Knowing the game, you decided you want to escalate quickly. With a high abundance of resources, empires should grow quickly. Anomaly and Curiousity frequency should give certain techs and reveal more secrets on each planet. High Node Connectivity should produce more strategic funnels, giving empires closed off areas.

When it comes to choosing a faction, you decide on the Sophons. Their faction ability Omniscience gives you the ability to research technology faster if no one else had. Your population is full of eccentric scientist, seeking to understand how the cosmos operate: science events gain twice the political support. A peaceful people, Sophons give greater support for science politics whenever pacifist policies are enacted. Due to their curiousity, dogmatic religious beliefs are generally ignored, leading to religious events affecting less on the political scale.

The Sophons also start with a secondary population at the start. The Pilgrims are a group of humanoids who dedicated their worship in discovering the knowledge of the Endless. A devout and insightful people, they tend to support religious and scientific policies with fervor. Every single breakthrough in the lab is another step closer to the Endless; all scientific events give a portion of religious support.

When it comes to modding, you start by turning on Endless Moon, to add some intresting lunar discoveries later on. Aside from that, you also have Unlocked Minor Interactions, to give you more ways to communicate with minor factions.
