[I Can Provide A Distraction...]
I realize something; I at least can provide a distraction. Bounding down the stairs I rush right past the angry looking Water Insect and dive quickly under a desk as it tosses another shot of those glowing bubbles my way. From behind me, I hear a cry of "Mi-nuuun!" Moments later I peak from under the desk and see the water-insect thing fall to the ground, **** or dead, I'm not sure which.
I emerge from my hiding place and Smile at the other officer. Who Smiles back and then makes a 'come-on' gesture and heads back upstairs. I follow, cautious, looking around for other threats and moving somewhat slowly due to my injuries now that the adrenaline is wearing off. I briefly check on the condition of the water-bug creature and find that it is merely paralyzed, it's still looking at me with eyes full of hate: So I...

Earth: Population 16 Billion Sapients: 75% Pokémon, 20% Human, 5% 'Trainers'
On October 30th, 2016, the world goes mad. At the exact same second that dawn reaches the prime meridian, rays of strange energy in every color descend over the whole world, and touch 80% of all humans plus 20% of all plants and animals. When they disappear a few seconds later those who they touched are changed: they have either become Pokémon (including some new kinds) or changed into cartoon versions of people. Those who became cartoon people have sets of 8 Pokéballs, and can Pokémon caught to obey them, while those who became Pokémon can use Pokémon moves that defy the laws of physics.
