The Elder Tree

Also known as the world tree by the Darkin, is the worlds largest and tallest tree that the Harpies have made into their nations capital - locally referred to as Hisoria. The tree is a beached oak tree in appearance, with no leaves or sprouts it was once considered a dead tree, however the tree was confirmed to still be alive and well even though it is considered to be older than all sentient civilizations, far outliving both the Darkin and the Anu, its true origin or purpose is unknown. With it's wood harder than any steel, it's bark has been up until now, almost indestructible and yet firm enough to house the many buildings that the harpies have built on top of it with the help from the Dwarven manufacturers, who managed to create a metal alloy capable of piercing the tree's thick skin enough to bolt the houses down.

The Darkin who used to study the tree noted that fire while ineffective of truly burning the tree, would cause it to 'bleed' a little out of its bark near the burnt area, the sap was said to have potent restorative properties. The Harpies exploited this rare commodity and every 5 years a few batches are harvested and sold onto noble families the world over for a small fortune each bottle, allowing the Harpies to keep up with the humans in their GDP. Civilians or outsides who attempt to harvest any sap by themselves are considered enemies of the state and are sentenced to beheading along with any accomplices, the same punishment goes for anyone within the country who purchases any sap without the countries seal of royal approval on it.

Orc Flight Raids

It was no secret that the Harpies detested the Orcs for their savagery, while not particularly fond of the humans for their warmongering and aggression either, they were still reasonable and empathetic enough to come to terms, however the Orcs were a blight on the earth that would destroy and corrupt without any mercy, restraint or boundaries. They were brainless berserkers who cared only for warfare and racial supremacy, they didn't care for love, compassion, art or any higher awareness other than their most prime and animalistic urges to seek blood. It was for these reasons that unlike any other race, the Harpies instigated attack after attack on Orc towns and strongholds, they would come usually at the dead of night and use their metal fitted talons to claw at unsuspecting Orcs jugulars or eyes, only to retreat once the alarms were sounded and their presence discovered to the Orcs. The Harpies carried out these **** missions like this because they could easily be grabbed out of the sky if an Orc anticipated their attacks and once grounded, they stood no chance against the brutish Orcs.

While the Humans and Orcs were in an endless war, it was often with humans on the defensive and as such, human raids into Orc territory were uncommon. The added pressure of the Harpies endless raids are what historians credit to the Orcs plans to start The Great War.

Dune Knights

Named such because of the Harpies territory being 80% desert, Dune Knights are harpies capable of flight wearing heavy suits of armor, and is a feat of both strength and dexterity that they have achieved through many vigorous lifetimes of training in heavy sandstorms and turbulent gale **** winds weighed down with heavy suits of armor. While usually petite or lithe, the Dune Knights are known for their bulky sizes and large wing spans that come as a byproduct of their intense training. Certified Dune Knights are capable of hitting 60MPH speeds while carrying 100KG of additional weight and are said to be among of the worlds greatest warriors.
