[Greg>40] Greg accepts Noah's decision, and they go scavenging
Greg’s eyes narrowed. “Fine, but I expect to be allowed to hunt sooner than later. I need to check the traps before the carcasses start to rot, and you’re not going to let your woman starve, are you?" There was a hint of a threat in his voice, subtle enough that it might have been missed by someone else, but Noah caught it. His jaw clenched, but he didn’t take the bait.
“We leave in 5,” Noah said, brushing past Greg and heading for the front door. He tried not to let the tension show in his shoulders, but his mind was racing. He could not deny the truth in his words. Sooner or later, food supply is going to run thin in town, and he was going to have to let the man go hunting, hoping that his paranoia about Greg was unwarranted.
