***Arbor Corners Locations***
Arbor Corners High School- The only high school in the college town. The school mascot is the Crossbows. The cheerleading squad wears the traditional school colors of green with brown trim. The dance squad, the Archerettes, wears brown with green trim.
Zurbrugg College- Founded in 1897 by Alaric Zurbrugg. Originally a small, private liberal arts college, the courses and majors offered have significantly expanded since the 1950s. Although the college lacks the wide range of courses and graduate programs that the public Breakwater University offers, Zurbrugg has closed the gap. An above-average law school and a respectable medical school have put the college on the map regionally.
Located on the near southside of Arbor Corners, Zurbrugg is located just east of the Pickle River, with Shore Road between the two. The college borders Greek Row (32nd Avenue) on the north, Mineral Street on the east, and 24th Avenue on the south. The administration buildings are located alongside Shore Road on the west-central side of campus. Five dormitories are situated along the northside of the campus, across the street from the Greek houses.
Shops line Mineral Street, Shore Road, and southward of the campus area, with 21st Avenue hosting a number of bars, taverns, and small eateries. Several large apartment complexes are located on 24th Avenue, directly across the street from the southern end of campus.
Greek Row- Located on a section of 32nd Avenue, directly across the street from the college dormitories. It consists of nine large, 3-story buildings. The four sororities are located on the west end, with the five fraternities situated on the east end. One fraternity, Omega Beta Gamma, is currently suspended from all activities.
- Theta House- Located at the far west end of Greek Row. Once considered the party sorority, recent officers have attempted to change Theta Alpha Theta's reputation. The sorority still has a party-girl reputation, but their next-door neighbors, Chi Chi Pi, has gained the slutty sorority label. Current Theta Alpha Theta President: Bryleigh Lampley.
- Psi Place- Located just east of Chi Chi Pi. Tri-Psi has long held the reputation as the blue blood sorority; they recruit daughters from wealthy, influential families. The recent hazing and bullying scandal under the reign of Elizabeth Buglehall resulted in a recruiting suspension for the current school year. Several other members quit, leaving a half-empty house and questions about the future. Current Psi Psi Psi President: Lindsey Rusk.
- Sigma House- Second to the last house at the east end of Greek Row. A middle-of-the-pack fraternity as they don't have a wild reputation like Omega Beta Gamma or a geeky, academic stigma like their two neighbors to the west. Has long had social ties to Tri-Psi sorority. Recently took some hits due to its poor leadership at the top. Current Sigma Lamda Sigma President: Anthony Kostos.
Seedling Park- A large park lined with trees at the edges with a central green space. Located just east of Greek Row on 32nd Street. A popular place for students to relax or engage in a pickup or intramural game. During the warmer, sunnier months it can be the sport to work on tans with plenty of attention. Those wishing to tan in privacy head down to the shores of Pickle River.
Holy Java!- Located at 2601 Mineral Street, across the street from the east side of campus. A bustling corner coffee house, it's popular with students for its beverages, treats, and place to hang out. Notable Employees: Harper Hemming and Merritt Moxey, baristas.
Pizza Pot- Located at 2415 Mineral Street, across the street from the east side of campus. A greasy pizza parlor. It provides a quick meal for many during the day or a late-night afterbar/afterparty meal by delivery.
Nine Lives Novels- Located at 2311 Mineral Street, across the street from the east side of campus. A two-story used bookstore, it's the place to find better deals on textbooks than the campus bookstore. The dingy basement holds its comic book selection. Notable Employees: August Sneed, clerk.
Leafy Buns- Located at 2205 Mineral Street, across the street from the east side of campus. A delicatessen known for generous-sized sandwiches, salads, cheese, and other cold cuts that are vital to college students low on money.
Scoops Creamery- Located at 2110 Mineral Street. An ice cream parlor that's packed in the warm months. Serves a limited selection of various foods besides its ice cream selection. Known as an affordable place to take a date for poor college students. Nicknamed McNutters by students. Notable Employees: Dove Flavin and Nikki Fitch. Owned by the McNutt family.
Cozy Corners- Located on the southeast corner of Shore Road and 24th Avenue, across from the edge of campus. A 24-hour diner, the place never seems dead. Peyton Tarver can often be found in a southwest corner booth with friends while studying. Notable Employees: Aubrey Dunford, waitress.
Smuggling Mugs- Located on the southwest corner of Mineral Street and 24th Avenue. A corner tap. The place to play pool as there are several billiard tables scattered around its two floors. Notable Employees: Raekwon Wright, newly hired.
Bigass Burritos- Located four doors west of The Moon Garden on 21st Avenue. Features a limited menu of beef, chicken, and steak tacos and burritos, but students love them. It's the post-bar spot for drunken students to grab a bite to eat before heading home. Brian Weeks and Vaughn Riker live in an apartment on the third floor.
The Moon Garden- Located on the northeast corner of Shore Road and 21st Avenue. A tavern, it's the quieter, slightly more upscale drinking spot near campus. Popular with upperclassmen, who either have a little more cash or are sick of crowds at the other bars.
Vino Vines- Located at 1919 Shore Road. A wine bar, it's by far the most upscale and fancy drinking spot around campus. A popular hangout of the Theta Alpha Theta sorority.
Pigskin Pitstop- Located on the northeast corner of Mineral Street and 21st Avenue. The sports bar to visit after Zurbrugg games are finished, or the place to watch any games on its numerous TVs. It can become a rowdy joint after big Zurbrugg wins or heartbreaking losses. Notable Employees: Brian Weeks, bartender, and Darnell Hazard, cook.
The Barn- Located kitty-corner from Pigskin Pitstop on the southwest corner of Mineral Street and 21st Avenue. It's a notorious dive bar popular with underage students as they don't check IDs very well. While it's easy to get in, don't start trouble inside, as the bouncers won't let troublemakers leave without bruises. Allegedly a spot for illegal activities. Notable Employees: Creed Klackhurst, jack-of-all-trades. Owner: Loretta Klackhurst.
Citrus- Located on the eastside of Arbor Corners, near an abandoned strip mall. A dance club popular with both Zurbrugg students and locals. The worst part for the students is finding a way out to it if they don't have cars. Notable Employees: Zaylie Dunday, bartender.
Lasting Kisses Agency- A matchmaking service located on the west side of the Pickle River in what was once the neighborhood for the wealthy and influential. The renovated Federal Colonial-style house provides a warm, comfortable atmosphere for when matchmaking agents conduct their initial interviews with clients. Owner: Sarah Fredrikson.
Seventh Heaven- Located just outside the city limits on the far southside of town between Arbor Corners and Grassy Valley. While it might be located on a rural highway, no expense was spared with this large strip club. Featuring two sides (one for female dancers, one for male dancers), it's a popular, brightly lit, and safe strip club. Caters to college students, businessmen and businesswomen taking clients out, and wedding parties. A significant portion of the club's business comes from making bachelor and bachelorette parties feel magical. Having witnessed how The Beehive treats its employees, the owner of Seventh Heaven has a firm no **** rule and treats his girls golden. That's not to say he won't sample one of the strippers if they're interested.
Notable Employees: Kiki Heeter, stripper, and Vaughn Riker, bouncer. Owner: Hoyt Magruder, a native of Honey Hollow. Note: Hoyt considers the time that Lana Stratton worked his stage as the greatest night in club history. He'd kill for more daughters of his former classmates to strip or die a happy man if one of his old classmates performed on his stage.
