Goal of the Game:

Dev Patel is a trainee solicitor at Cummings & Ryder LLP. On his first day, he is introduced to some new powers that can help him Manipulate his colleagues and climb the corporate ladder.

Dev's training contract (TC) lasts for 2 years and he needs to make sure once this period is done, Cummings & Ryder want to retain him as an Associate. He must have 100% Resolve by the end of his training contract to get the job.

THIS IS INTENDED TO BE PLAYED AS A GAME. I will constantly try to make sure the points system balances and makes sense as the game progresses, so please Start Game when you're reading!

There are a few basic mechanics that play into Dev's journey.

Core Mechanics:

Resolve:

Resolve represents the likelihood of qualifying into the firm. If it isn't 100% by the end of the TC, he fails. Resolve increases for every new woman that Dev seduces. Resolve never decreases.

Dev's ability to use his powers on targets is linked to Resolve. Other people’s Resolves are fixed in place and are based on their position at the firm. If Dev has greater Resolve than a target, he can use his powers on them. Otherwise, his powers fail and Dev loses Reputation. These are the following positions in the firm:

• Managing Partner; Resolve 80
• Partner; Resolve 70
• Associate; Resolve 60
• Solicitor; Resolve 30
• Paralegal; Resolve 20
• Secretary; Resolve 15
• Receptionist; Resolve 10

Reputation:

Reputation represents Dev's outwardly character; how he is seen at the firm. If this reaches 0% at any point in the game, he fails. Reputation correlates with how much work he is doing at the firm. His reputation is damaged if he flirts women at his firm, even more so if he uses his powers unsuccessfully.

Subservience/Threatened Level:

Subservience/Threatened Level represents how each woman Dev seduces feels about him. This is based on Dev's morality towards them. If Dev acts morally, his colleagues like him and want to be subservient to him. They would listen to Dev's requests and act willingly (albeit they've been Manipulated). If Dev acts immorally, his targets are threatened by him and feel blackmailed to act as per his wishes. They don't exactly want to do it, but know they have to comply. For each target, this can lead to different routes and different sex scenes.

This trait starts at 0 for each woman. Subservience is measured in positive numbers. If a woman is blackmailed/threatened, it scales in negative numbers.

THIS IS STILL IN THE WORKS

The plan is to make a large, overarching story across Dev's TC. There's a rough narrative in mind, with progression and choices that branch out in unique ways. Sort of like Attaining Tenure but a man's POV and supernatural elements.

I'm still figuring out the way conditions work and the way I'd like this story to branch out but in the long run I think it should be a fun experience! I might also add gifs, etc. but right now my focus is actually getting the story off the ground.

A lot of what I've done may also change. Like with points. Hopefully, it all comes together as the story gets bigger and bigger.

I think the concept of a branching narrative and the amount of options and storylines I would have to think up is hindering progress on this so I'm just gonna start writing the "main" storyline and not care as much about other potential lines. This way, I will be more bothered to add chapters.
