(Wrenn POV) Brunch

Brunch with Kody was probably one of the best ones I've had. Josh, Kody, Claire, and I all laughed and exchanged great stories. During brunch, I learned Kody's mom had passed away when she was young and her father saved some of her mother's life insurance money for Kody to go to a good school and not have to work while doing so. Claire and Josh admired her as well.

Once Kody and I got back from brunch, we lay in our beds. I heard Kody unlock her phone. "Ugh," she sighed "better get to class." She got up and headed to the door. She grabbed her backpack, looking back at me. "Thank you for today, Wrenn."

During the last few weeks, Kody and I got really close. We made sure to plan our schedule accordingly so we could meet up in between classes. Besides the crush I had on her, she was really starting to become my best friend. I’ve had crushes on girls before but she’s different.

I finished classwork early that day and Kody had a track meet so I decided to start cleaning the dorm earlier than usual this week. I texted Kody “I’m going to wash your stinky sheets for you and do some of your laundry if that’s alright.”

I put my phone down and begin to strip Kody’s sheets and pillows. I throw them on my dirty pile of sheets and begin doing through her dirty clothes bag. I eventually get impatient and dump the entire thing onto the pile of sheets when something tumbles out of one of her pairs of boxers. An athletic cup. As I stare at it, I get a text from Kody. “You can get sheets for me :) I’ll get my dirty clothes later.”

I throw the athletic cup on the bed, gather up the dirty laundry and make my way down to the laundry room.
