(Subplot) Laura's Ranking Woes

"Okay Lucy, I can't take it any longer. I need to know where I am in the rankings!"

"Rankings?" Lucy turned around in surprise to find Laura had entered her room and was standing anxiously in front of her "What rankings?"

"The popularity rankings of the glitches. Who is getting the most subscribers, messages, tips or whatever.."

"I really don't think it is a healthy idea for me to be sharing that information with you or anyone else, Laura. And it isn't a ranking as such, it's just stats the production company keeps."

"So you do know!" Laura retorted accusingly "Come on, just give me a clue where I am. I won't tell anyone. Am I top three?"

Lucy gave Laura a look. Her face fell a little.

"Top five?"

"I think you're in the top ten. Just"

"Top ten?" Laura looked dismayed "How many glitches are there in the rankings anyway?"

"Sixteen I have stats for" Lucy answered, finally relenting and picking up her tablet to check the information her friend was requesting "Sophie, Lexie, Maggie, and Noelle have only just been registered so I don't have anything for them yet, and we aren't counting April as a glitch"

"What, so I'm not even in the top half?" Laura pouted "And you're at number one I suppose?"

"I am, but you have to remember it's my show. I get pushed way more than anyone else by the production company. And I'm not miles ahead or anything"

"Yes, that's all very modest of you to say, I'm sure" Laura rolled her eyes "Who is second?"

"Mel"

"Mel?" Laura sounded incredulous "She's never even here!"

"She's always been insanely popular" Laura shrugged "Maybe it's the whole crazy hot but uncomfortable in her own skin thing she has going on. The producers were even talking about offering her a spin off show, but I can't imagine for a minute she would go for it"

"Honestly, that girl!" Laura sighed to herself "Who is third?"

"Chelsea. Though I do think she may be benefiting from a newbie boost. Also, she isn't naked much so her fans think they are seeing something they shouldn't whenever she goes for a shower. In fact, Chelsea's showers are the most viewed and recorded footage in the whole show"

"Great, who is next?"

"Barbie is fourth, Tania is fifth, or was..."

"Tania!" Laura practically spat out her name "Evil fucking Tania is in the top five?"

"These aren't my rankings, Laura!" Lucy defended herself "Though, if I'm honest, I can see it. She had that whole posh totty thing, plus people liked the nothing but glasses look. For all her faults, she was definitely hot"

"Okay, who is next.."

"Right, then it is Abi, James, Leilani, Cassie and you" Lucy finished consulting her list and put her tablet back down.

"That is a fucking disaster!" Laura sulked "I'm four places below Abi who does nothing but sleep. I am really putting on a show for my viewers! I was so popular on Naked Forever!"

"I think that's your problem here" Lucy responded "This isn't a sex cam show, it's more about voyeurism, people feeling they are seeing us acting naturally while we're naked. Plus there is weird shit people love that I can't even account for. You wouldn't believe how popular Tania on the toilet was"

"Damn, I'm going to have to figure out the rules for this" Laura decided "Who is bottom?"

"What? Why would you even want to know that?"

"It might make me feel a bit better" Laura folded her arms "Unless it's Liv. God, it's not Liv is it?"

Lucy gave Laura a look.

"Fucking Hell! I'm bottom half and my partner is dead last!" Laura wailed "We are seriously going to have to up our game!"

"It's not a competition , Laura" Lucy tried to remind her friend "And everyone is really popular. Liv has tons of fans, just not quite as many as everyone else"

"I'm going to fix this Lucy!" Laura vowed as she made for the door "You mark my words!"
