(Subplot) A Missing Toad

"Okay, where is Tania, I'm turning her back" Mel asserted herself as she walked into Lexie's room.

"You mean Little Tania Toadsworth. Call her by her proper name"

"Enough of this crap Lexie, you've had your fun. Now hand her over to me" Mel folded her army angrily.

"She's in the charity shop" Lexie answered nonchalantly.

"You'd better be fucking kidding me, Alexis Tate" Mel narrowed her eyes.

"I'm not. I just wanted her to spend one day there to know what she put me through. I'll go back first thing tomorrow and buy her back for a dollar...sorry, a pound"

"And what if someone else buys her first?"

"Have you seen the state of her? Nobody is paying for that thing. I doubt she would find a home even if she was being given away for free"

"Just go and get her Lex. You've really lost the moral high ground on this, you know?"

"Fine, I'm going" Lexie sighed as she stood up "But I'm telling you, you are worrying about nothing"

"What do you mean she was sold?" Lexie barked.

"This is a shop, dear. Sometimes people buy our products"

The woman who had taken over April's role wasn't blessed with the same natural people skills as her predecessor. She was also more than a little thrown by the sudden appearance of an angry, nude customer. The people of Beaconsfield were aware that Naked Mansion was being filmed locally, but it was still always a surprise to see one of the glitches literally in the flesh.

"Who the fuck would buy that ugly little thing?"

"Well, you want it don't you?"

"That's different. It has sentimental value" Lexie actually felt herself blushing a little. People were looking now, and she felt ridiculous standing naked in public getting worked up about a toad statue "Who bought her?"

"I feel like that kind of information is confidential"

"What the curiosity shoppe code of secrecy? Just fucking tell me!" Lexie thumped her fist on the counter.

"Fine" the shop keeper relented, not wanting any more of a scene, as she scribbled an address down on a scrap of paper "But good luck getting it back. They seemed very taken with the thing. It turns out I really should have priced it much higher"

"Oh God, I'm so sorry Tania, I've taken this way too far" Lexie panicked to herself as she walked urgently out of the shop and in the direction of the address she had been given "I guess once I get you back, we're even"
