Time to wake up?
(Spoilers!) Magic and Spells
This is a quick reference to all the spells you may encounter during your adventures. Needless to say, there will probably be many spoilers about the story here.
Common Name (Verbal Incantation) Difficulty to Use/10
Dominatus Curse (Dominatus) 9/10:
This spell is the curse you’re trying to break and the main driving **** behind the story. The difficulty of breaking it (i.e. unheard of without the caster’s consent) is counterbalanced by how difficult it is to prepare. Only a small handful of the most experienced wizards know either ritual, and even fewer can perform them. The rituals themselves last for several hours, but actually gathering enough mana and reagents to power them usually takes many months.
“The Dominatus curse is the ultimate contract of slavery and one of the darkest forms of magic to exist. In its early stages, it allows the caster to punish a disobedient victim with pain. Once the curse fully takes root, victims become completely incapable of resisting its user’s demands. Transforming a free person into a mindless **** lasts about a week, but especially defiant victims may retain their sanity for years.
Worst of all, the only way known to break the curse requires the caster to willingly perform a complex ritual. Killing Sindarion would merely cause it to spiral out of control, turning you into the perfect **** for the first person that claims you.”
Variations:
Sindarion’s Dominatus Curse (???) 9/10:
The variation of the Dominatus curse your nemesis has cast on you. It is every bit as cruel as the original spell and many times more perverted. Rather than causing pain whenever you defy your enemy’s orders, this empowered version sends you into a debilitatingly intense sexual heat instead!
Fire-Making Charm (Inscendia) 2/10:
A versatile charm that allows the caster to conjure flames of varying sizes out of nothing but thin air. While novice wizards may struggle to produce flames larger than a candlelight, experienced ones can use it to hurl massive, fiery bolts over great distances. The charm also protects its user from fire for a short time, making it difficult for wizards to injure themselves with it. Though all spells may be empowered by their caster’s emotions to a degree, this particular charm is especially receptive to anger!
Variations:
Whitefire Charm (Inscendia Repentis) 7/10:
Your signature attack spell. The flames conjured by this variation burn a dazzling white and have a significant advantage over the normal charm. They are harmless to your allies and the environment, but become deadly against enemies with wicked intentions against you. It took many years to discover and perfect this spell, and you’re yet to meet another mage capable of using it.
Total Sleep Charm (Somnus Totalum) 9/10 on unwilling targets, 5/10 otherwise:
Causes the target to fall into a deep, enchanted sleep. Whilst under this spell, the target is usually oblivious to all outside sensations, but may have a faint awareness that they are dreaming.
“the strongest sleeping charm you know, a spell that takes experienced wizards many weeks to dispel. It is a charm that’s almost impossible to land on an unwilling target”
Unlocking Charm (Releasio) 1/10:
A simple charm that may be used to unlock both mechanical locks and weak magical ones. It requires contact with the object to succeed.
Suggestion Charm (Obscura Veritas) 2/10 to 7/10, based on the target's willpower:
This basic suggestion charm erases the victim’s short-term memory. The caster is then free to rewrite it by telling the victim what ‘happened’. Only one victim may be influenced by this charm at a time, and it is most effective against targets with weak wills.
