Some twists, some turns, some moving of pieces, and before long things are clicking into place. Turning any one gear would turn more and more of the others as you got closer to the solution.

After a few minutes of work you finally get to where every last moving piece would move in unison. At this moment you hear a Kachunk! and the whirring of gears as the pillar comes to life. Everything now moving on its own.

As the gears spin the pillar slowly lowers itself into the floor revealing within it a slender pedestal. Upon the pedestal lie one of the dungeons rubies along with a fine silver amulet of elvish make.

Studying the amulet closely you realize you had seen a similar item before. It bestowed some sort of protection on you though you could not remember what.

Looking around the room you have a little itch in the back of your brain. There was something more to this room, you could just sense it.

You begin to explore around and lo and behold you discover a hidden door built into the stone of the North wall. In the Scoundrel Code it is labeled as "One Way Shortcut".

One way. Much like the passage that lead you into this dungeon in the first place. If it was anything like that one the passage will seal up behind you leaving you in whatever place it lead and only a perfect stone wall behind you.
