(Mentally) Push Back

"I don't know COCKATOO," you mentally reply, finding yourself matching her increase in volume, "They told me my bloodline somehow goes back to a lot of important magic user families, maybe even yours at some point! Also I apparently have a really rare elemental affinity on top of that requires them making a separate class for it!"

You can feel the mental blinking Harmony makes in response to your comment before she thinks, "I have never heard someone manage to make a statement like that sound like both bragging and complaining at the same time."

"Why so surprised," you think back, "It's like how people can think you're completely obnoxious but still get boners when they see you bending over."

"HOW DARE YOU!"

You wince at the even greater increase in volume in your head as Harmony's face turn turns a deep red and you get the sensation she is moments away from slapping you across the face. For the moment, however, she decides to continue mentally screaming at you.

"I AM NOT HERE FOR SOME LOWLY STOMACH-CRAWLING WORM TO LUST OVER! YOU COULD NEVER BE WORTHY OF SOMEONE LIKE ME EVEN IF YOU HAD TWO THOUSAND CENTURIES TO LEARN HOW TO DO SO!"

You feel a headache growing in your head from Harmony's tirade and, almost reflexively, you gather your mental energies and try to shove back, just wanting her to lower her voice.

Instead what happens is you feel something "crack", for lack of a better description, in the space between your minds. Given the way Harmony's glowing eyes widen in surprise she feels it too and then the two of you are experiencing... something else.
