(Grill) Tell Linda that being here makes her suspicious

You were so eager to get Linda away from the shelf holding incriminating evidence against you that you were almost inclined to reach out, grab her arm, and drag her physically away from it. Instead, of that kind of physical severity, you relied on some harsh words instead. You warned Linda that coming up to the study on the first day just before Wanda changed had painted a huge target on your back for anybody looking for a suspect. Now she was doing the same thing to herself! It would be best if she left this to you.

Linda raised her eyebrows, turning away from the bookshelf and clasping her hands together in front of the low bust-line of her dress. "Really? You don't want me to assist in the caper? I really can help!" she protested. "I was looking forward to solving mysteries together like when we were younger. You and I, the dynamic duo!"

That did sound pretty good. Under ordinary circumstances, it might even be fun, maybe even romantic. However...

You hated to put your foot down on the matter, but this was for Linda's safety as much as anyone's. If the game master got a hint of what she was up to, they might expedite their plan to turn her into a slobbering mind-**** like Wanda or Tallula. You were going to have to dial up the heat for the sake of getting her out of here quickly. Slowly, you pulled your notepad from your pocket, telling Linda that she wouldn't just be facing suspicions from the others. You had to include her as a suspect as well, for due diligence. Anything less would make you a failure as a detective.

"What? Really?" she asked, lowering her eyebrows and adjusting her new, gold-framed glasses with a stern expression. You were transported back in time to when you and she were about the same size-- she was quite the argumentative type back then. "You're actually suspecting me in all of this?!"

You told her you had to suspect everyone. If she wanted to appear less suspicious, it would be good if she'd take your advice and head downstairs, instead of snooping around in Wanda's office.

"But you're snooping around in Wanda's office too!" she reminded you, crossing her arms across her chest.

You sighed, adding that she was free to suspect you too, if that's what she wanted to do.

"Well... m-maybe I will!" she complained, although it didn't look like her heart was in it; she looked like she was still hurt by the , despite her arguing. You saw her pouting as she turned with a swish of her dress that revealed far more of her leg, bare up to the hip, than she ought to be comfortable with. "Hmph! I suppose I'll be taking that mystic item tour by myself, since the friend I invited has decided I'm a sinister criminal who's mind-controlling another girl to give him blowjobs!"

Linda stormed out of the study and shut the door hard behind her. It didn't feel good, watching her turn her back on you... but it had to be done. It was better that she be angry at you for today than that she starts to mistakenly think you were some sort of criminal hypnotist mastermind. Now, you were free to grab the book for yourself for later reading.
