Bellow is a list of books, movies, video games, music, and other media which has and will continue to serve as inspiration for the story on the part of the Owner: I invite other contributors to add sub pages that list their own inspirations for the benefit of other contributors to get a sense of where they are coming from and what is influencing their additions to the tale.

Any inspirations which are freely available on the internet without violating copyright should have a link provided for them so that others can read/watch/play/listen to the inspiring content, as well as, if applicable to a single thread you have written, as opposed to your work on the tale generally, a link to the thread they inspired.

At the bottom of the page will appear a template that can be copy/paste-ed to create pages of this kind for other contributors. Follow the style guidelines established by this page for any future pages, or your page will be edited to fit, ONCE, and an note left reminding you of the guidelines then deleted if you continue to ignore the guidelines. This book, though a parody mashup, showed me how a zombie apocalypse can be used as a backdrop for a more personal/character-centric story, which I have long felt due to the improbability of the victory of the classic zombie over human opponents made more sense than the traditional uses of the genre.

This series shows me how fragile our civilization is without a strong central authority and the 'Rule of Law'/'Due Process' to keep us from going for each others' throats, as well as how things might break down if that were striped away. It also gives some very inspiring visuals for the zombies.
(Small point of note though, I have only read through the end of the prison story arc, so no spoilers please.)

This game has had and likely will have more direct influence on my writing in this tale than any other product or property: in a way this tale is a play through of this game which begins with a much more established colony many years after the events of the traditional game itself. Like the game which preceded it "Rebuild", demonstrates to me how the process of recovering from a disaster such as this one might play out.
