'Cinder' decides to tease her about her obvious crush

Ruby had only met the tanned, green haired girl, Emerald, a couple times before. She had been rather outgoing and easy to talk to. Unlike Ruby, who tended to be more reserved around strangers. It was obvious that Emerald adored Cinder by her actions. Ruby actually found this funny, as Emerald now looked down at her. Cinder was a lot taller than she was. The remote however put Ruby in Cinder’s life, and while others saw her as Cinder, Ruby still saw herself, just wearing her clothes.

The thing was, Ruby knew Yang would tease Emerald if she was in her position. However, Ruby wasn’t into girls and neither apparently was Cinder. Cinder’s life tended to get pleasure in bullying, much like Yang. Ruby realized she probably wouldn’t get a chance like this again normally, so she might as well see what was so fun about being mean. It would also keep Cinder more in character and not alter her life too much.

“The fall maiden can wait,” Ruby said, letting Cinder’s life guide her. All Ruby really knew right now was they were looking for someone. Now that they found her, they would simply wait until the perfect time to reveal themselves. Somehow, Ruby felt something was off, but decided not to pry further into strangers’ affair. “I want to discuss you, Emerald.”

“M-me?” Emerald stuttered, growing red. Ruby reached forward and cupped the girl’s chin.

“Are you happy in your current position?”

“H-happy?” Emerald looked a little confused and then her face seemed to glow as she thought of something. “I-I love being by your side and am happy to do anything for you.”

“I see…” Ruby smiled. “If you could be more? Would you accept?”

“M-more?” Emerald spluttered. Ruby wouldn’t be surprised if steam escaped her ears. It was the same expression Ruby had felt so many times falling for Yang’s tricks. “What do you mean more?”

“I wonder…” Ruby ran a hand across Emerald’s cheek and the girl began to shift as her knees began to shake.

Ruby had a decision to make now. She could continue to bully Emerald, Cinder found pleasure in it, but Ruby was way too nice to do this seriously. She didn’t expect to run into a teammate so soon. Perhaps it would be better for her to leave before she accidentally messed up Cinder’s life. She really needed to practice more with the remote and see what it could really do.
