Chapter 13 by DankMemesAndCreams DankMemesAndCreams

"W.A.T.E.R."

You stoop to your knees, letting your pants sag a little to get at the precious liquid. You can almost feel it running down your throat and spreading through your body, cool and fresh, almost lighting you up from within. The spring water even tastes amazing, though you're not sure if that's because of anything to do with the water or going days without it.

"Wah-hur."

You splutter a little before turning around to look at Blue, who stares back at you with an unreadable expression. You swear you heard her voice, but her face is so neutral that you've already half convinced yourself that it was just your ears playing tricks on you and that you're just freaking the poor girl... the poor harpy out.

"Did you just-" you start, but the sight of someone else approaching shuts you up immediately. Blue must've realized from your face going pale, since she too whips around to greet the newcomer.

Red chitters coolly with Blue, whose voice warbles even as she replies in their sharp tongue. Red responds, and though Blue starts to reply, she's cut off by her older sister with a snappy, biting retort and an accompanying buffet of her wing. It bowls the other girl over, who lands in the stream, thrashing in its flow until she can drag and cough her way out. You reach to help her when that terrible grip on your leg yanks your feet out from under you. You struggle at first, but soon quit as the talons pinch your tender ankle. Then, with a sudden yank, you're skidding forwards, your back burning as its scratched over the sharp rock and rough ground. You hiss in pain, immediately trying to keep up with her pace, but Red just yanks you forwards again, her gait lurching as she drags you down the path to the stream and towards where your circle lies. You hiss louder as the dirt pulls apart your shirt and gets into the shallow and not-so-shallow cuts, growing to groans of pain as you're finally dumped back in the old spot.

Red hisses and sighs back at you the whole time, saying something directly to you in her incomprehensible tongue. You can her yourself begging, pleading for her to leave you be, but neither of your words have any effect. Growing bored, she starts to move - to leave, you think - only to carelessly tug your pants down. She lowers herself down, leaning forward to whisper something that could just as easily be a deadly threat as a sweet reassurance. You really don't know which it is, but right now, you don't care; you're almost sobbing, trying to keep your back off the ground and keep her off of you, but she's almost twice your size and many times stronger. She starts to press her wet slit against you and the response is purely automatic. You shut your eyes and close your mouth, just counting the seconds in your head. Her only redeeming quality is that she climaxes faster than any of the other harpies, so at least you won't have to wait that long...

Even with your eyes closed, you can sense the shadow passing over you.

Air sweeps over the clifftop, and you're grateful for the first time ever that Red is on top of you; you're certain you'd be swept off the cliff had you not been anchored. Greywing's arrival is as powerful as it is abrupt, and Red hurries to pull herself off and away from you. You wait for the dust to clear before opening your eyes, greeted by Greywing's steady gaze. There is anger in her eyes, but somehow you can tell it isn't for you. Her tone is icy when she speaks, calm but deadly serious. Red, perhaps for the first time since you've arrived, sounds unsteady in her replies. They go back and forth, their replies growing longer and, in Red's case, more emotional. Eventually she snaps out, gesturing towards Orange, whose approach you hadn't noticed. Greywing turns her head to regard her other daughter, who simply turns away, her face red.

There isn't much after that. The matriarch gives a final, scathing blast of chatter to each of them before retreating into the cave. Both Orange and Red stare, then glare at each other. You're not entirely sure how you know, but the certainty comes from somewhere within you, and with it comes relief and a sense of loneliness.

You're off limits, and always had been. You'd been for the twins, and for Blue, never for the larger sisters. A human boy, for the half-human harpies, perhaps? That part you can't say for certain.

Only that, for a brief moment, you wished you'd held back the tears when Orange had come to you before.
