Chapter 20 by xt766 xt766

Ohh I just love party tricks. Don't you ?

"The title of Rogath"

I had a moment of 'wait that actually happens?!' when the entire hall went dead quiet after hearing Limira mention the title I was there to claim. After a moment the king started laughing with the usual comment born of disbelief. "That's a good joke, now what are you really here for?"

Limira simply looked at me and said "show them what you do." So I started by making the kings crown disappear with destruction and then recreated it sitting in his lap instead of on his head, he abruptly stopped laughing. A squad of about 8 or 10 guards came running from the sides of the hall and lowered spears to point at us while they created a circle around us.

That's not very nice to someone who's both un armed and unarmored. I thought and so I made their spears vanish and replaced them with bouquets of flowers I had seen in a store front during the ride to get here. The king didn't seem happy with my "party tricks" and started making demands of things for me to create.

An exact copy of his throne and robes, a stone statue of himself.. minus half his belly and fat ass to make himself look better, some bricks of gold. As I was nearing my limit of 50 creations a day I was getting tired of him and his demands to see more and fill his borderline narcissistic vanity. I destroyed everything he asked me to make and made a sculpture of almost perfectly clear ice that would never melt in the form of the beauty behind him, tall enough to rise half way to the celling of the hall. That seemed to leave him with no furthur response and also get a wonderful blush from the woman.

The King finally called for the royal archivist to come to the hall to arrange making my rank official and had a guard bring me a cloth pouch of what I assumed at the time to be coins. While we awaited the arrival of the archivist the king started some long winded speech about living in the capitol and aiding the court. I had stopped listening to him about 20 words in and just focused on observing the woman who remained behind him. With a subtle gesture I created a single purple rose in her hands, as I watched her blush deepen.

As we were on our way to the capitol I had been asking Limira questions about things I saw along the way. one of those things was a woman selling flower from a small shop just outside the city gates with a sign in the shape of a rose and colored purple.

When I asked about the color Limira said "A purple rose is a rare flower here that is only ever cultivated for special occasions like the wedding of the kings daughter or the announcement of a divine messenger. They have also been used by very wealthy merchants to express interest in a woman."

"A few hours later..."
