"The Bombardier"

Just after hearing an explosion coming from Vale's docks, Ruby immediately concludes that if she were to go there, then she'll no doubt find Blake in the process. Making up her mind she and Penny reach the docks and make their way up to the top of one of the many buildings to view the situation currently going on. By the time Ruby arrives at the scene, she sees Roman Torchwick about to shoot the blonde Faunus boy, whom she and the rest of her team tried to catch a while back. Ruby then shouts toward Roman to distract him, so he'll focus on her rather than Sun.

Ruby: HEY!!!

Roman: Oh, why hello red, nice to see you again! Although don't you think it's a little past your bedtime?

Ruby: (Why does everyone keep thinking I'm some little kid?!)

Penny: Ruby are these people your friends?

Ruby: Penny, please stand back!

Unfortunately, since Ruby turned her head to speak to Penny, she let her guard down just long enough for Roman to pick up on and fire a shot at her. The force of the shot sends Ruby flying backward knocking her to the ground. Roman couldn't help but laugh as he was able to get his payback on her for interrupting his heist way back however that was about to change when the young ginger-haired girl who accompanied her here stepped forward.

Roman: (Seems like her friend wants to fight too, although... I'm not seeing any weapon on her. Guess she was just a civilian.)

Ruby: Penny please wait!

Penny: Don't worry Ruby... "I'm Combat Ready!"

It was at that moment when Penny's backpack opens up for ten blades to come flying out and then form up to levitate behind Penny. Ruby couldn't begin to understand how the swords were doing that however what she didn't know was that the hilt of the swords had a string so thin that it was practically invisible to the untrained eye. Penny then leaps off the roof and sends two of the floating swords to knock out a pair of White Fang foot soldiers. Once landing she then follows up by swatting one fang member after another before sending all of her swords out like some sort of bladed frisbee and proceeds to knock down multiple fangs almost like they were pins in a bowling alley. Roman watching this decides he doesn't want any part of that and begins heading toward one of the ships. Just as he gets on it his scroll starts to buzz.

Roman: Who could that b-... oh well would you look at that. I was wondering when I'd hear back from him. [He says as he presses the call button]

Baron: [Sounds like you are having quite the party, huh?]

Roman: Indeed, I am so how's about you come over and join us!

Baron: [Don't worry I'll be there... shortly.]

As he hangs up, Roman turns back just in time to see the ginger-haired girl's blades begin to spin around before a green ball of energy forms before then firing a laser slicing two of Roman's ships in half and crashing into the bay.

Roman: (These kids today just keep on getting weirder.)

Deciding to cut his losses Roman and one other ship take off with what little Dust they managed to steal and take off into the distance while the remaining White Fang members stayed to preoccupy Penny and her allies. Meanwhile, Ruby who had been spectating Penny (absolutely) decimate the White Fang, finally decides she's seen enough and jumps down to assist her as well as Blake and Sun who had now just reconvened with them to momentarily catch their breath. When both Ruby and Blake's eyes meet, they each had an expression on their face that showed a considerable amount of surprise as well as thankfulness. For Blake, she was happy to see that Ruby came when she did, while for Ruby she was glad to see that her friend was ok. It was then that Ruby's attention would be redirected from Blake's face to the pair of cat ears on her head.

Ruby: Blake... um... I uh... I'm not sure what to say right now.

Blake: I know, and I promise to explain myself once this is all over.

Sun: Yeah, well still got these White Fang goons to deal with! Oh, and the names Sun by the way nice to meet ya'!

Ruby: I'm Ruby and the one next to me is my new friend Penny!

Penny: Salutations!

Sun: Uh... salutations to you too?

They would, unfortunately, have to keep the conversation short as more of the White Fang was already making their way towards them with even the ones that had been knocked out from earlier were already beginning to get back up and return to the fight. Seeing as they were slowly beginning to be surrounded, Ruby and the rest of her makeshift team huddled together and assumed a defensive position prepared for whatever the Fang was going to throw at them next. They were confident that even if they were outnumbered, they'd still be able to handle themselves even in the event should all of their foes charged them all at once. However, what would happen next took them completely by surprise, for as one of the Fang members was about to charge, he immediately began to step back, in fact, every single one of them was slowly backing off from the group.

Ruby: Huh, they're backing off?

Sun: Guess they realize they've got no chance at winning this so they're making it easy on themselves and decided to surrender!

Blake: No... I don't think that's it. Look closely at their expressions.

Penny: They seem to be smiling? Is that normal?

Blake: It isn't. (The only reason why they haven't attacked could only mean... that they have us right where we need-) *Gasp*

As Blake looks down, she sees a glowing line on the ground with a shimmering hue to it. It was then at that moment she realized everything was indeed happening exactly as she feared and that they were in immediate danger.

Blake: EVERYONE, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!!!

As they scramble to get out of the way, the line on the ground begins to glow even brighter until finally within the next few moments a massive explosion envelops the area the four had just been standing on. While Ruby, Blake, and Sun managed to avoid the blast but as for Penny, she wasn't as lucky since she just barely caught the end of the explosion which ended up sending her flying up against a wall of a building. As she began to assess what had happened, she notices that some of her blades were missing, possibly lost when she tried to get out of the way of the explosion. Using her semblance Ruby dashes over to Penny to check if she's ok.

Ruby: Penny are you alright?!

Penny: Don't worry Ruby, I believe I'll be just fi-

Before she could finish, she notices the ground had begun to light up once again, meaning another explosion was imminent. Realizing that there wasn't enough time to tell Ruby to get out of the way, Penny pushes Ruby away from her with all her strength just as she was enveloped by the glowing light. A second later another explosion goes off this time sending Penny straight into a building.

Ruby: PENNY!!!

Baron: I wouldn't worry about her if I were you right now!

Ruby turns to where the voice was coming from and sees a group of White Fang members make some room as the person no doubt responsible for the attack makes his way to the front of the group. The man was blonde just like Sun however unlike him his ears were pointed and wore a red bandana around his head. When Blake finally saw who the person was, she went pale almost as if she had just seen a ghost, Sun noticed this as well, and judging by Blake's expression gave him the impression that she perhaps knew who he was. When Baron turned to look to his right and saw Blake, for a moment his eyes went wide with surprise before returning to an emotionless poker face.

Baron: It's been quite a while hasn't Blake? I guess what I heard was true, you did abandon leave the White Fang.

Blake: I-I just don't believe this is the way of doing things anymore... I wanted to find a new way for Faunus to be treated better that didn't involve turning us into terrorists.

Baron: You sound just like your father if he were standing here right now, he'd probably have a smile on his face. Regrettably, this is hardly the time for us to speak about such things, so I'll say this only once out of respect for your father, take your friends and leave this place right now otherwise, should you choose to stay you'll leave me no choice but to treat you as the enemy.

Blake: ...

Ruby: Why!

Baron & Blake: !?

Ruby: Why are you doing this!? If you're supposed to be trying to make things better for the Faunus, then why would you be working with someone like Torchwick, knowing it will only make things worse for the Faunus!?

Baron: I wouldn't expect you to understand pipsqueak what we Faunus go through on a daily basis since you're a human. Being constantly oppressed just by your appearance, to be called a freak or a monster. We've had to suffer this since time immemorial. The only way for us to break this cycle is to first break the society that has allowed this injustice to flourish until now, even if we must resort to using questionable methods. So long as it helps the Faunus in the long run it will be all worth it.

Ruby: What about right now, what about Blake!? Haven't you thought about how she feels about all this!? I may not have known her for very long, but I can tell that she's been hurting and as her friend and teammate I want to help her, to be by her side! So, I'm not going to just sit here and watch as you make things more difficult for my friend!

Blake: Ruby...

Baron: Your friend, huh? ...I see you've made an interesting friend Blake. (Especially one with 'Silver Eyes' of all things). We'll then my dear do I take it you'll fight alongside Blake, that you'll always take her side regardless of what that maybe?

Ruby: Yeah, I will!

Baron: And you Blake, what is it you want to do at this current moment?

Blake: I want... I want to stop you and my fellow brothers and sisters from making a terrible mistake! [Pointing her weapon towards Baron]

Baron: Very well then, I won't try to sway someone who has made up her mind. In that case...

He immediately swings his sword toward the three of them and within seconds another explosion goes off only... Ruby, Blake, and Sun weren't his intended target. When the explosion went off in the building behind them, the one which Penny was inside erupted leaving nothing but rubble and flames.

Ruby: Oh no, Penny was still in there!!!

Baron: My apologies, but I needed to get rid of the one that posed the greatest threat at the moment. I saw what the girl was capable of and knew that if I was to face the four of you together then I would be facing an uphill battle, which was why when you all were grouped up earlier, I deliberately focused my first attack to aim toward her so I could eliminate her as quickly as possible.

Sun: Bastard, I'll make you pay for that!

Blake: NO SUN DON'T!!!

Although Sun was skilled in his own right, he was nowhere near the level of his opponent. Not only was Baron much stronger than Sun but he also had more experience than him as well. As Sun would try to land an attack against him Baron would almost as easily move out of the way of his attacks almost like he was anticipating when he was going to swing his weapon. Deciding that this wasn't going to cut it Sun switches his weapon to its gun chuck form and tried to overwhelm Baron with quick strikes followed by a barrage of Dust rounds. But it was all for nothing as everything Sun threw at him either missed or was deflected with ease.

Sun: No way, how are you doing that?

Baron: Sorry but I'm not the kind of person who goes around explaining why you are losing while in mid-combat.

In an instant Baron slashes the air and a second later the space between him and Sun is filled with a bright light followed by another explosion that sends Sun flying back slamming him into a cargo container which luck for him was empty. But now it was down to just Ruby and Blake who not only had to deal with Baron but also with the remaining White Fang members as well.

Ruby: Looks like it's just us now huh, Blake?

Blake: Yeah, looks like it... sorry for running away Ruby.

Ruby: Apology accepted.

Blake smiles at Ruby for accepting her apology despite knowing she was with the White Fang. Now as they face off with what looked to be their last battle, they took one last battle stance and prepared for the worst. Luckily for them, it would seem as though fate was on their side this night for as a group of Fang members was charging at them something crashes down from above followed by a familiar voice shouting...

"Aura Burst"

Almost instinctively the two huntresses in training leap behind a nearby container. Baron seeing the two go to take cover also uses this opportunity to get out of the way but while he avoids the initial shockwave, the intense gust of wind blows him back even further away from Ruby and Blake.

Baron: (What incredible force just now, was this what I think it might be?!)

Just as he was about to slam into the ground Baron quickly adjusts his body in the nick of time to catch himself by touching the ground with his hand followed by a backflip to land back on his feet. As he began to adjust himself to what just happened, he sees that every single one of the other White Fang members was laying on the ground unconscious but at the very least still alive, no doubt from the insane burst of energy that hit them. As he let the smoke settle, he soon could make out a figure standing in the center where the blast of energy occurred. Ruby and Blake took this moment to peek out of their hiding spot to get a look at what happened. When they saw who had shown up their faces lit up and they smiled, with Ruby almost looking like she was about to start crying over how glad she was to see him.

Dolan: My Oh My, of all the White Fang members I could have run into I'd never think to be graced with the one referred to as "The Bombardier"! Tonight's looking to be a good night after all.

Dolan: Let's just hope you're not afraid of the dark Mr. Bombardier~
