Chapter 5
by Ulap38
What does Athena say?
"That sounds lovely."
Athena considered for a moment. She couldn't let the Egyptian beauty throw her off her game. Even with the Greeks and Egyptians being allies, constant attempts to gain some manner of edge had always been an aspect of godly relations, or relations in general if truth be told.
"That would be lovely," Athena said in response. Perhaps Athena could learn something more of the Egyptian situation. Though there was a part of her tempted at the prospect of dinner with a beautiful woman.
Bastet smiled, another purr-like sound emanating from her. "Excellent. There's this Greek restaurant in town I've been wanting to try." She stood up, smoothing her skirt out as she did, giving Athena a brief glimpse at Bastet's olive-skinned cleavage. She managed to tear her eyes away before Bastet looked back at her. Though judging from Bastet's sly smile, she had an idea of what Athena had been doing.
"So..should I call you regarding time and place?" Athena asked, trying to reassert herself in a stoic manner.
Bastet gave a coy look. "Time and place, Athena? I was referring to right now."
"Right now!?" Damn it, woman! Keep your composure.
"Why not?" Bastet asked saucily. "You're in charge around her. You can take off early if you want. Plus I imagine you probably have a lot of personal time banked away."
Athena raised an eyebrow. "And why would you figure that?"
"Because you strike me as a very dedicated woman," Bastet said sincerely. "You rarely take time for yourself and commit your all to greater purposes. Admirable, truly, but why not take some time for yourself?"
Athena sat back in her chair. It was all true. She was a workaholic and did spend more time working toward the goals of others than her own, though mainly because those goals coincided with ones that she believed strongly in.
"I do have one question for you?" Athena asked evenly.
"Oh?" Bastet asked, intrigued.
What is Athena's question?

Olympus On Earth
Ancient gods reborn in the Modern Age
The ancient Olympian gods have been reincarnated in the modern age as semi-mortal beings with human lifespans, but powers comparable to what they once held. Having taken human identities, the gods now live new lives in the mortal world, gravitating to occupations appealing to their ancient divine portfolios. For example, Zeus and Hera now have become the owners of a prominent international corporation, ruling over it as they once did Olympus itself. However, while being mortal has mellowed them, they are still very much the dysfunctional beings of power they once were. This story is their various adventures (misadventures) in living in the modern world.
