“It was the middle of June. We had just pulled off our first two major successes. People were starting to notice our hard work, and requests were starting to come in. Things were looking up.”

“And that’s where you slipped up,” Sae remarked.

“Well, one of us did,” Joker agreed. “Anyways,” he continued, we noticed a common theme in some of our requests. They started off as occsional requests regarding missing articles of clothing. ‘Please find my missing t-shirt,” and so on. But they all seemed centered around our school. As the frequency increased, the requests were most commonly about underwear. It soon became clear that a thief was behind this.”

“If you knew that, why didn’t you report it to the school’s authorties?”

“Because we would have lost our lead on the case. Besides, we had some... uncoventional tools at our disposal.”

“Fine,” said Sae. “Go on.”

“Like I said, it was early to mid-June when we met to discuss the underwear thefts...”
