"I love you, too."

Robyn looked at her friend a little dazed, the taste of her still on her lips. Emma waited her response pensively. Robyn suddenly started crying, reaching out to hug Emma. Emma wasn't quite sure how to take this, but hugged her friend close.

Robyn realized in that moment that she too would miss her good friend the most of anything, if some accident were to take one of them. She also recognized that she had suppressed feelings for Emma, as well. Then the tension of the recent events overwhelmed her and she broke down.

"I love you, too, Ems," said Robyn through her sobs.

Emma's heart soared at her declaration, and she turned her face to kiss Robyn again. Robyn returned her kiss, her tears forgotten. The comforting hug subtly transformed into a passionate embrace. Her hands roamed across Em’s back, caressing and soothing. Emma gripped Rob’s body, pulling it tightly to hers. Emma licked her tongue across Robyn’s lips, and Robyn opened her mouth to allow Emma in. Their tongues slid over each other, dancing fervently. Robyn broke the kiss to caress Em’s face with her lips. Robyn covered her friend’s face with kisses and then moved down to kiss her neck. After Robyn circled Emma’s neck, Emma lifted Robyn’s face to hers and resumed kissing her passionately. Their tongues probed each other’s mouths, moving back and forth with ease.

Emma broke the kiss, looking deeply into Robyn’s eyes, saying, “I’ve secretly wanted to kiss you forever.” Robyn smiled back at her, her eyes showing the affection she holds for her friend. Robyn pulled Emma’s head to her bosom. Emma relaxed to the sound of Robyn’s heart beating. They sat there, just stroking each other in silence, listening to the fire crackle.
