"I'm sorry."

Kim is about to say something when the elevator door opens. A young couple, holding hands and giggling, enters the lobby. You noticed that she stares at them longingly when her neighbours steps into the elevator after you.

"You were about to say?" you ask after they get off on the fifth floor.

"Oh, yeah. I just want to tell you," she unlocks the apartment door and steps inside. She takes a deep breath before continuing, "...that I'm sorry that I cheated on you."

You close the door behind you and glare at her. She keeps her eyes down, afraid to look back at you. "You're sorry?" you growl. "You're sorry that you fucked Brian in our bed, in our bedroom, in our apartment? Or are you sorry that you got caught?"

"Yes, all of it," she sobs uncontrollably. "I fucked up! Brian's an asshole. I kicked him out after I found him with another girl."
