Chapter 95 by airwreck airwreck

What did Ryan ask her?

"How do you know Marlissa?"

"How do you know Marlissa?" Ryan asked. "Did you hunt her down?"

"No, I did not hunt her down," Grace replied with her eyes closed while her fingers floated across the keys of the grand piano to play the soothing music. "She had already been summoned and bound by a mortal when I had first met her."

Ryan was curious about who the previous person who had summoned his wife but never bothered asking her about it -- it would have been awkward as asking who your partner's previous lovers were. "Who was he?"

"A shallow old man whose money was earned by being born into a rich family. Not that I judge mortals on that," Grace answered, glancing at him briefly with a smirk. "Nonetheless, his sin was abusing the knowledge of the arcane arts that he possessed.

"You have not abused your knowledge, may I ask?"

"No," he shook his head.

"Good," she smiled. "I hate to make Marlissa a widow so soon."

Ryan ignored the threat and returned back to interrogating the angel. "So you freed Marlissa?"

"Yes and no."

"I don't understand."

"She was no longer bound to her master when he died -- which was a pity since he was a regular client," Grace answered, eyeing Chiryn, "but she was no longer feral. She had gotten used to civilized ways of humanity."

"My Fair Lady," Ryan muttered.

"I beg your pardon?" Grace asked, looking at him with a raised curious eyebrow.

"She's like Audrey Hepburn's character, Eliza Doolittle."

"Oh yes. Very amusing!" the angel laughed, causing the two succubi to stop chatting to look at her. "I enjoyed it too!" She transitioned briefly from the Nocturne to The Rain in Spain to angelically sing the verse, "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain!" before resuming back.

"Excuse me," Grace giggled. "As I was saying, she was no longer bound to this plane and eventually went back home."

"That was decades ago..."

"What is decade here may be a day or a month in another plane of existence," Grace shrugged.

"Time flows differently in other universes," Ryan nodded. "So you're not really immortal."

"No," Grace chuckled. "Just very long lived."

What else did he ask her?
