Chapter 10 by MidbossMan MidbossMan

What should I ask Cornelia if she's done?

"Have you ever played the part of the prosecuted?" (Pink Trigger's Power >99)

"Have you ever played the part of the prosecuted witch, Cornelia? I think it's important to be able to understand both sides of the trial."

"The prosecuted? Please allow me to speak, Inquisitor Hip... I am no witch."

Yes, of course. Witches are foul creatures. However, I believe it's important to be able to make any debate from either side. If you, as an inquisitor, can't expect the arguments of witches and preempt them, then you'll find them pulling the wool over your eyes every time. You've seen lots of tricky witches in these proceedings, haven't you?

"Yes... I sometimes wonder how Gertrude and Dlanor are able to handle them so readily."

That's because they've undergone this kind of training! Trust me, Cornelia: all of the Great Court's inquisitors have to do image training like this to perform effectively.

"That makes sense... I only got to this point because of Gertrude's recommendation. Without that, I would still be serving as a third-class cleric doing, er, clerical work..."

Ah... She doesn't understand that in a way, she never stopped doing clerical work. No matter. I'm going to show her now what it means to be hunted. Of course, when any prosecuted witch comes here, they're going to fall back on a few basis instincts. But the most common impulse of the witch- which we will train you to anticipate and act out- is...

What is the most common instinct of the witch?
