"Buffy" talks some more to Andrew

Buffy's performance was so popular with the audience that the club manager hired her as soon as she got off the stage. She just smiled as she filled out the necessary paperwork, signing it with a false name, and then smiled again when she went into the dressing room to change into her regular clothes.

When she left the dressing room, she passed by the table where Andrew was sitting with his friends Jonathan and Warren.

"I wanna talk to you, Buffy," said Warren.

"You want a lap dance, I see," said Buffy. "Maybe tomorrow night. Right now I'm tired. And anyway, the name is not Buffy. It's Anne."

Warren grabbed her arm and stuffed a large wad of bills in her hand. "Okay, 'Anne'. I'll play along. What I actually want is for you to give my friend Andrew here a lap dance."

"Hey!" said Jonathan. "I thought you were going to buy me a lap dance, Warren."

"Andrew needs it more," said Warren.

"No, thanks," said Andrew. "I'm good."

"No, I insist," said Warren. "An opportunity like this doesn't come along every day and it would be a shame not to take advantage of it."

"I'd be happy to give Andrew a lap dance but I really would prefer it if you don't grab my arm like that," said Buffy. "Try it again and I'll break your arm."

"Wow!" said Warren. "You're cute when you're angry."

Thank god I don't have to dance for him, said the small part of her brain that was still the old Buffy. And for the first time that night, Buffy and Anne actually agreed on something. Then Buffy looked around at her surroundings and silently whimpered as Anne took over again.

"It's okay," said Andrew. "I don't need a dance. I'd rather just talk."

"Okay," said Buffy. "Let's go talk in that corner over there. The one furtherest from the stage."

Andrew followed her to the corner in question and sat down at the small table located there.

"Be right back," said Buffy and then she scurried off to the DJ booth where she handed the DJ a small wad of bills and then whispered in his ear. As she walked back to Andrew, the first notes of an old Pet Shop Boys song called "It's a Sin" started playing.

"Hey, I love this song," said Andrew as Buffy started to move in time with the music. "How did you know?"

"Just a lucky guess," said Buffy.

Andrew knew he should just shut up right then and enjoy the music but he could not help saying, "Er, Buffy -- er, I mean, Anne -- as nice as all this is, this is not what I meant by 'talk'."

"Sure it isn't," said Buffy as she started to unbutton her blouse. "That's what they all say."
