As Emerald followed the three from a distance away to avoid being seen they soon reached a small clearing that was completely open and provided zero cover whatsoever. It was at this point that the masked Faunus instructs the two to keep on going telling them that she'll catch up after taking a short break at a nearby river and the two simply nodded and continued without her. The fact that the one guiding them would tell them to go on without her meant that it was possible that maybe the hideout wasn't too far off plus when setting up a large campsite it only made sense to station it close to a reliable source of drinking water or at least that's how Emerald believed since coming from Vacuo where they built theirs's close to an oasis. As the masked Faunus crouched down to relax at the edge of the river it was at this point that it may be best to head back now and tell Cinder about this just in the event the hideout was close by however as she was turning around, she accidentally steps on a small branch which alerted the Faunus to turn around which to Emerald's dismay causes her to be spotted resulting in her to be shot at by the masked Faunus.

While Emerald managed to avoid the incoming shots, she wasn't expecting the Faunus weapon to be used like a grapple for when she tries to run back the way she came she sees her masked attacker swing around the tree and ends up directly in front of her just long enough to deliver a solid kick to the gut sending her flying out into the middle of the river. Now soaking wet as well as out in the open Emerald decides it was time to go with her backup plan and begins to reach for her smoke bomb only to find that it was now missing no doubt knocked off her person when she landed into the water which meant that she could no longer make her escape. As the masked Faunus walks out of the trees and into the clearing Emerald immediately raises her hands to show she didn't want to fight and hopefully, her disguise would be enough to convince her attacker that she was a part of the White Fang.

Emerald: Take it easy, I'm one of you guys!

???: If that is the case then why did you run the second, I saw you?!

Emerald: W-Well you did just try to shoot me plus I'm still new to this since I just joined recently and it's taking me a bit of time to adjust!

Out of all the places on Remnant, Menagerie was known as the place where most of the Faunus population reside and where the White Fang originated. While Emerald may have never been there, she did learn a lot about it before meeting Cinder from listening to the gossip of some of the Faunus back in Vacuo so perhaps this would be enough to convince her attacker to stand down and hopefully come up with a plan of escape. As for the Faunus, she slowly began to lower her weapon making Emerald think that she believed what she was telling her or so she thought, for instead of putting her weapon away she shifts the weapon's form and hurls it toward Emerald. Though she was able to narrowly dodge the incoming attack, her top was unfortunately sliced down the middle, causing her breasts to pop out due to Emerald not wearing a bra under her disguise.
