"Aila" with urgent news.

Behind your front door, you open it to see your elf partner, impatiently tapping her foot while crossing her arms. When she sees you, she doesn't bother with pleasantries and pulls you out.

"Hey, let's hurry! We've got an emergency in town!"

"What?"

You're shocked and although you want to question further, your partner can't waste time. Seeing your confusion and smelling the sex on you, she grimaces.

"Look, you can stop fucking your wife and just come follow me to the town hall. Everything can be explained there, but to simplify, we're going to be attacked soon. Now, go get your things and hurry! Don't bother washing up or anything, we don't have the time!"

Now that she has your attention as she sees your eyes widen, she hops back on her horse nearby and gallops into the distance where you see your hometown. Given how urgent Aila appeared before you, it seems you can't dally any longer.

Quickly stepping inside, you go to a chest and grab your small dagger and put on some leather gear. As you mainly practice bare-handed magic, you don't wear anything heavy in order to ensure that you can move easily, but you've been taught by Aila how to use a dagger if you ever get cornered. Remembering the times when you've drawn blood with your trusted blade, you furrow your eyebrows and place it into its sheath attached to your belt.

Hearing you rummage through the chest, "Nai" steps back into the house with a towel over her head as she tries her hair. "Love? I thought I heard Aila a minute ago?"

Hearing her approach, you let out a heavy sigh and then stand up, towering over her and for a moment, staring into her mesmerizing eyes. "The town is in trouble. I need to do my part as one of the fighters living here."

"Nai" widens her eyes and opens her mouth for a second before closing it after making up her mind. She leans forward and gently kisses you before stepping back. A sad smile forms on her lips.

"Be careful."

You nod and unable to resist, you close the gap and kiss her, brushing your hand through her wet hair.

"I'll be back," you promise.

Without another word, you leave your wooden home and near a horse fence, you untie the rope to your steed and hop on. The horse snorts, turning away from the fence as you pull on its leash towards the town.

"Let's go!"
