Shortly before they were to leave for the other cabin, Zack was in his room buttoning up his dark blue shirt, he figured that just because it wasn't a party, it didn't mean he shouldn't dress nice.

Kurt was in the shower and Victoria, Heather and Chloe were getting ready at the former's room. He thought that Gavin and Ashley weren't going, it was just Brandon left. ”He'll probably stay because of Ashley,” Zack supposed before grinning. ”And I have just the trump card to convince Gavin.”

At that moment, there was a light knock at the open door and Zack turned his head to see Gavin entering the room. He finished with his shirt's buttons and nodded at his friend. “So, you're not going then?”

Gavin shook his head. “Yeah, you know me,” The young geek said. “I don't do well at reunions like those, too many pretty girls and not so much courage to talk to them.”

“Are you sure?” Zack pressed. “Chloe will be there, you know? Maybe you can talk to her about that kiss you told us earlier.”

He was satisfied to see the flicker of a doubt pass over Gavin's face. “She's going?” Gavin asked, like he wasn't believing it. “Strange, she doesn't like parties.”

“It's not a party.” Zack stated.

“Still, she usually doesn't feel well at gatherings like those, unless they happen to be at soccer fields, of course,” Gavin argued. “I think I'll go then, you know, to make her company if she feels suffocated there.”

“Great,” Zack snatched his phone from the desk and glanced briefly at the time before dropping it into his pocket. “There's still twenty minutes before we have to get going.”

“I'll be quick, I've already showered!” Gavin yelled from the hallway.

Zack shook his head and chuckled. He then went back to the main area of the cabin, where he saw Brandon behind the kitchen counter, already dressed up.

“I can admit I’ve thought you weren’t going.” He said, sidling up to his friend.

“It was no use staying here, Ash is going,” Brandon replied. “Maybe I can use this party to try and solve things with her, you know?”

“Yeah, of course,” Zack agreed. “She can’t avoid you forever, man.”

At that moment, Kurt walked over to them coming from the left hallway. The older guy joined Zack and Brandon at the counter, already dressed as well.

“Alright, everyone’s ready?” Kurt asked, fiddling with the last button on his shirt.

“Gavin and the girls aren’t here yet.” Zack replied.

Kurt chuckled. “Of course the girls aren’t ready,” He said, drawing a laugh from Brandon. “They take forever to do so, especially Heather, you’ll see.”

”I heard that, Kurt Johnson!” Heather’s voice yelled from her bedroom, causing Zack to join on Brandon’s laughter.

The three of them didn't have time to discuss the girls further, because at that moment, the door to Heather and Victoria's room opened and from there, four beautiful young women stepped out.

Chloe was very pretty, wearing a red short-sleeved blouse, a black skirt that went to her knees and a pair of black high-heeled shoes. Her long red locks were flowing around her smiling face and down her back. Noticing that she was sporting a bit of makeup, Zack supposed the other girls had worked on her at least a little. ”Gavin will probably get a nice surprise when he sees her.” He was glad that his best friend seemed to be loosening herself more.

Zack sneaked a glance at Brandon and noticed that his friend was almost drooling at the sight of her girlfriend. On the other hand, Ash just gave him a faint smile. ”Things sure are rocky between them, I hope they can work out everything there.”

Heather shrugged. “A girl has to be prepared,” She defended herself and her friends. “Is everyone here? Can we go?”

“Not yet, we’re still waiting for Gavin.” Brandon replied.

“Gavin's going?” Chloe asked with an eyebrow raised. “He's not into those things.”

“Neither are you, and yet you're still going.” Zack grinned at her.

“Yeah, you're right.” The redhead chuckled nervously.

“I’m ready!” Gavin shouted from the hallway, his steps thundering on the floor. He ran over to them and stopped in his tracks when he caught sight of Chloe.

”Wow!” That word was the only one his mind could process right now.

Everyone stifled a chuckle at his reaction while Chloe just blushed. Heather looked at everyone and clapped her hands. “Okay, everyone’s here, can we go?”

“Let’s get this show on the road!” Kurt roared, to nods and murmurs of approval from the others.

The way to the other cabin was a quiet affair, with Kurt leading the party as Brandon and Ashley walked holding hands a few feet behind him and Victoria and Heather on either side of them. Behind everyone, Chloe walked between Zack and Gavin, the latter unable to say anything beyond a stutter every time he looked at the redheaded girl beside him. Zack noticed that Chloe was starting to get annoyed with their friend’s lack of words.

However, Gavin wasn’t the only who was uncomfortable because of a girl, Zack made him company on that department as Victoria and Heather took turns sneaking glances at him, the former with all her sweetness and the latter with all the suggestiveness she could muster.

The young man swallowed hard as he imagined a night full of those looks and subtle teasing. ”Hannah will be there too.” He reminded himself as his old crush flashed through his mind for a moment.

“Oh, Zack, I almost forgot,” Chloe said, turning to face him. “I invited Lisa to come. I figured that she was really nice to us yesterday, so I wanted to return the favor. Hope that’s okay.”

“It’s alright, Chloe,” Zack managed to say, even though he wanted to grit his teeth. ”God, Zeus, Odin or whatever of you who’s looking down here, please help me!”

Eventually the group arrived at the other cabin’s front door, every one of them looking around and making the inevitable comparison between that one and Heather’s one. Although Kurt was the only one to give voice to the thoughts on his head.

“Wow, this one is much bigger than yours, Heather.” He said with a smirk.

The blue-eyed brunette flipped up her middle finger at him. “Shut up, it isn’t that bigger, is it?”

Zack stepped up onto the porch and rang the doorbell.
