A Prisoner and his Guard

After being locked alone in a cage for a long enough time, anybody who claims to be sane will eventually begin talking to themselves. Damien knew this well form his stay in the CAPP section of one of the highest security penitentiaries in all of New Vex Field. On days when the boredom of being locked up had overtaken him, he had listened in on some of the prisoners' ramblings. Out of all of the prisoners however, Damien Falls never broke. Damien was one of the few anomalous properties inmates the prison housed, or AP inmates for short. Unlike the standard prison orange most prisoners wore, these wore a white jumpsuit with the bold letters AP placed on the left hand pocket of their suit, which strangely gave a good contrast to Falls’ black hair and pale-ish skin tone. In order to be placed under the jurisdiction of the Containment of Anomalous Persons Program, or CAPP for short, subjects would have to demonstrate some sort of anomalous abilities. Some had the ability to slip under half inch doors, others had been able to take multiple bullets to the chest without them penetrating past muscle. Damien Falls seemingly had anomalous abilities that allowed him to persuade a subject to do things that they would normally be morally opposed to.

In the year he was captured, a number of women had gone missing in southern New Vex Field. Two of them were later arrested after robbing a gas station and fleeing the scene, something all of their family members had reported they weren’t morally capable of doing. The only way authorities had connected the girls to Falls, was because they both kept insisting on seeing him again during interrogation, and when his apartment was raided by police, 3 more of the reportedly missing girls were discovered. However, after being found, all of the women would testify that he didn’t do anything to them, and they had chosen to remain in his residence and funnel large portions of their finances to Falls. Even with this, it was enough to tip off CAPP to anomalous occurrences with Falls, which allowed them to take him into custody. Still, CAPP has little idea of what anomalous abilities Falls was capable of, if any, and he wanted to keep it that way. The only thing the program knew about him was that his name was Damien Falls, and that he was 21 years old. In any and all interrogations he remained silent, and even when he was contained in his cell he kept this silence. seemingly meditating often

But today, Falls was talking.

“Is that why mommy left you when you were young?” he spoke into the open latch on the door to his cell. On the other side of the cell, a male prison guard was enraged, and he opened the cell door and entered ready to beat the man inside up.

During this fight, Falls was quickly noticed by security, however, as a blonde short haired officer and her two guards rushed into the cell block and towards his cell quickly. She raced to the door and grabbed the officer, pulling him back from the bloodied man.

“Help me take him away. Now.” She instructed the other guards. They obeyed her and carried their fellow guard off, though he thrashed to brake free in an attempt to come back at Falls.

“Just what the fuck was that?” She asked Falls

Falls looked to the ground, his hair covering his eyes as he stared at the floor like he had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

“What did you say that made him so angry?”

He tilted his head up to meet her gaze, and instantly his deep blue eyes locking onto hers. He took a deep breath in as if he was about to say something, but then slowly exhaled, maintaining his firm eye contact with Scarlet. His eyes squinted, looking into hers as if he had seen something bizarre. And he had. Deep into her brown eyes he could see something his soul latched onto. He felt her. Not physically but in his minds eye he could feel her presence, and he could feel an opening in it.
