The Loveboat.

John Andersson has just entered his cabin on the cruise ship Extravaganza. The ship is in Miami harbor. It is the home port for the huge cruise ship. He is one of the two Doctors onboard. Together with two nurses and a secretary the small medical crew handles all medical issues on board. Occasionally if something more serious occur they will contact the hospital in the harbor they will arrive at next. Mostly the issue is seasickness or digestion problems. The pace onboard the ship is not very fast.

For the duration of the journey the next seven days will be spent on board and in his cabin. It is his own cabin and it is empty when he is not onboard. Since this is his first journey he has a lot of luggage with him. He intends to stay onboard during next week even though he is free that week. His schedule is very comfortable. He works a week and then he is free one week. Since he just moved from England he doesn’t have a place to live in Miami. So in the beginning a lot of time will be spent on the ship. Frankly also to save some money and gradually figure out if this is something for him. His contract is for one year with many options for prolongation.

John is 37 years old and he is from Manchester in England. He is 6’3 or 190 cm tall. Good looking with Nordic roots. He studied at Oxford University and he has been a doctor for almost 10 years now. After a messy breakup with his longtime girlfriend Elizabeth he needed a change of scenery. Luckily he saw an advertisement for a job as a doctor on a cruise ship. Great pay and definitely something else to do for a while. Not the most challenging job but hopefully satisfying for him.

It takes him almost an hour to get all his stuff in place. His cabin is huge and he has a fantastic outdoor space. His cabin is close to the medical facility because on certain nights he is on duty.
