Host’s Daughter, Someone’s Wife

Reconnecting over Trivia

Chapter 1 by Mehereok Mehereok

Attending trivia night on a weekly basis at the sports bar he frequented, Jay Sampson would also see a beautiful, dark blonde-haired woman with a sweet, disarming smile, killer body, and the look of someone he knew, but, couldn’t place for several weeks. Upon being noticed by her, it then hit Jay:

“Marissa!” Jay recalled. “Marissa, from The Cut Steakhouse, my former hangout. I knew her for years” he thought to himself. “Damn, she got gorgeous..Mariss was always beautiful, but now..Wow..”

“Jay!” the beautiful woman with the sly, sexy smile greeting him. “Marissa! From The Cut! How have you been?” she asked. With that one greeting, their previous, fun relationship and familiarity came rushing back.

“You look a-mazing, Mariss” Jay complimented her, soaking in her beauty, smile, and $200 haircut and style.

“Even her hair is sexy..She’s incredible..” Jay’s mind raced. “I’d bury my face in her hair if she’d let me”

Catching up on who was working where, relationships, and joking, Jay asked Marissa if she did trivia anywhere else:

“Do you do trivia at Pomo, Bellish’s, or Charley’s? I know they have it, too” Jay asked.

“Just here. The host is my dad..Yep, that’s him!” Marissa advised, teasingly touching Jay’s arm with her French-manicured nails and hands.

“Oh, ok..That works” Jay replied, noting her wedding ring and figuring he should ask about him to be nice. Even though he privately hoped the ring was either for show, or, Marissa was in an unhappy marriage.

“He’s home” Marissa answered after Jay posed the question. “At least, he better be!” the sexy trivia contestant stated with a mix of joking and not so joking. It was early going, but Jay had a slight sense that something with beautiful Marissa’s marriage wasn’t quite right. He wasn’t hopeful yet, but there may be reason for it.

Trivia proceeds, and Jay and Marissa trade fun waves, looks, and, on her way to and from the lady’s room, hand fives and touches. He knew she was married, and probably raised right to not cheat, yet, Marissa was also so beautiful and, if this touchy-flirty, wasn’t getting enough physical or emotional attention from her husband.

A younger, attractive woman in a blue tank top won Round One, questions about geography in your state. Round Two, covering “Road Safety” was about to begin.

“Oh, I’m so in trouble!” Marissa smiled and said to Jay. “I’m a ter-rible driver. I don’t know rules!” she laughed, placing her hand on his shoulder and flipping her beautiful hair back.

“I’ll help you..Just keep looking over at me from your table. Come up to me if you want, too” Jay replied. “We’ll get you to win this round”, he added, fiving her hand and briefly grasping her soft fingers in his.

With a wide, beautiful smile, Marissa thanked Jay, and batted her deep, blue eyes.

“You are too good to me!” she told Jay. “If I win, I owe you a drink or something” the pretty daughter of the trivia host confirmed.

Final question of the round, and Jay knew immediately: “Left corner goes first”. He flashed his left hand to Marissa, who was only 3 points behind before the final question, which was worth 10 points.

The beautiful blonde wrote her answer down, submitted it to her host dad’s smile, and reviewing other scores..Announced “My Marissa” as the winner. Jay thought the same thing. My Marissa, if all went as planned.

Raising her arms in victory, Marissa came right to Jay, hugged him, and asked what he wanted to drink, with a side joke:

“Beer, shot, or Me?” she asked, elated with her win.

“How about a beer and shot WITH you? Have a seat, sweet smile” Jay replied, to another batting of her eyes and long, dark, natural lashes. He kept asking himself, how did she get so damn gorgeous? I can’t stop looking at her.

Marissa agreed and sat to Jay’s left, her wedding set finger furthest from him. He’d seen this before and knew women did it on purpose.

The third, and final round title seemed to hover over Jay and Marissa:

“It’s On”.

Final round starting, as are Marissa and Jay
