Chicken out: The game

Chicken out: The game

A simple transformative game of chicken

Chapter 1 by Felixfalck Felixfalck

The game was formerly a kids game many years ago. Older than many of the countries on our maps today, it now imprisons a vengeful spirit. Now, the wrath of the wicked one haunts the unfortunate souls who happen to stumble across it. While the promise of a wish for anything is a tempting prospect, things rarely go as planned..

The game is easy to play. It supports up to six players. Each player get their own piece and the goal is to endure the wicked ploys of the spirit as they progress through the board. The first player to reach the finish line is considered as the winner and gets to wish for whatever they may please. A second condition for winning can be met if all but one player decide to chicken out before anyone reaches the goal. The last player standing in this scenario is then declared the winner.

There are only two mechanics to the game. Declaring ones intent to either continue or chicken out. While the game may inflict certain changes that restrict a player's ability to declare their intent, there are always alternative ways for them to make their decision known to the game.

Along the board are four different colors that the players can land on. Each of which represent a part of the players "being" or soul if you will.

The red cards represent the player's mind
The yellow cards, the player's face and head
The blue cards, the player's sense of fashion, style and outfit.
And finally, the green cards for the player's body

If a player receives a card they dislike they can choose to chicken out, which leaves them stuck with whatever cards they've previously drawn. The winning player can use their wish to revoke any set of changes to both themselves and other players in addition to their original wish. This is however optional. Who knows how the players will think once their minds and bodies have been corrupted beyond recognition..

Finally, if a player is caught cheating or stalls the game needlessly they will receive a punishment, often relating to the offence.
