After the miniature padlock snapped shut with a dry, merciless click, absolute silence hung in the room for several long breaths.
I remained kneeling on the hard parquet by the edge of the bed, hands clasped behind my back, knees numb and heavy. My thighs and scrotum still burned from the laser pulses at the salon, and the fresh crop welts across my back and legs stung like open fire. The surgical steel clamped taut against my pelvis once more; the chill of the cylinder slowly bit into my spent flesh, while the asymmetric base ring ground deep into the perineal skin.
Loona did not rise immediately. She looked down at me from above, casually setting the brass key tool onto the nightstand. The cutting, sadistic mockery with which she had chastised me moments ago seemed to drain slowly from her features. In its place settled a softer, almost pensive gaze, laced with dark fascination.
"Up, John," she said softly. Her voice had dropped all imperious edge; it sounded muted, nearly tender. "Don't stay on the floor. Onto the bed."
I blinked dazedly, unsettled by the abrupt shift in her demeanor. Slowly releasing my hands from behind my back, I pushed up onto unsteady legs and managed to stand. Every muscle protested. Gingerly swinging my legs over the edge of the mattress, I sat down hesitantly beside her.
"Flat down. On your back. Hands beside your head," she directed. "No grabbing. Keep your mouth open."
I let myself sink back. The instant I was down, Loona pushed her robe aside, straddled me, and lowered herself in a single movement. No hesitation. No gentle adjustment. My field of vision filled entirely with her—skin, heat, darkness. Air remained only in the brief gaps between her shifts.
"Tongue. Now."
I obeyed. She rode down short and hard, her weight planted firmly across my mouth and nose, hips rolling without tenderness. From above came only her voice, close and slightly breathless, and her fingers tangled in my hair, anchoring my head exactly where she needed it.
"Do you know what crossed my mind when Alessa and Miriam walked into that booth?" she said, pressing down heavier. "I came so close to telling Selin to rip your goggles off. You should have had to look them in the eye while she smeared the gel around that thread. I wanted to drag you off that table. Naked. Collar. Cage. Right in the middle of the room. Chiara would have tapped the cap and handled your balls in front of all four of them. And then down on all fours. The tile floor. Sneakers planted on your back. You kissing their feet, buffing their shoes, while they take photos for the group chat."
A muffled sound pushed against her, not a word. The image choked my throat; her weight cut off the rest.
She let out a throaty, breathless chuckle above me, quickening her pace. Her pelvis drove down shorter, more commanding. "You would have done it. Silently. Head down. Because you can't even help yourself anymore."
Her thighs trembled. The pressure over my mouth and nose turned absolute. She came loudly, hard, without holding back—a raw, deep cry that filled the bedroom, warm and slick straight against my tongue and chin. She ground down twice more, as if to make sure, then remained seated until the tremors subsided.
Only then did she lift herself off.
The cool air on my face hit like a shock. I gasped, chin glistening, completely unable to form a coherent sentence. Loona ran her thumb across my wet lower lip, not to clean it.
"Breathe," she murmured softly. "Then lay your head here."
She patted her silk-covered thigh. I rested my head on her lap. The familiar fragrance of her expensive perfume, mingled with the cool silk of her robe and the fresh traces she had left on my face, enveloped me. Slowly raising her hand, Loona began combing through my hair with calm, measured strokes. Her warm fingertips glided gently across my temples, traced down my cheek, and lingered over the velvet choker whose heavy little padlock rested against my collarbone.
"You're still shivering all over," she whispered, tilting her face down toward mine.
"It… it was just an overwhelming amount today, Loona," I managed hoarsely, closing my stinging eyes. The gentle warmth of her touch after the day's ordeals was so staggering that tears pricked behind my eyelids. "First the salon with Chiara and Selin… then the fitting in front of Vanessa and Arissa… and now this. I feel completely numb."
A quiet, delicate laugh parted her lips. Her fingers stroked soothingly across the nape of my neck.
"I know," she breathed. "Yet you haven't the faintest idea how breathtaking and intoxicating it was watching you today. When Chiara seized your cage and hauled it aside with both hands… how you lay on that table, teeth clamped tight, not daring to let out a single sound. Every single second of it was pure perfection. Knowing you endure it all solely to please me."
Her hand drifted slowly from my hair down to my throat. Catching the miniature padlock on my choker between two fingers, she lifted it slightly, letting it clink against the buckle with a faint metallic sound.
"Don't delude yourself into thinking peace returns after tonight, though, little one," she continued in a velvety, almost offhand tone, gently turning the lock between her fingers. "This evening, the crop, the release onto the floorboards… that wasn't a reward meant for resting. That was the fuel you need to endure the coming days in the first place."
I opened my eyes, looking up at her uncertainly. "What… what do you mean by that? Endure what?"
Loona leaned down slightly further, her warm breath grazing my cheek. A mocking, loaded smile curled her lips.
"You listened very carefully in Schöneberg today when Arissa pulled the lace over you," Loona began softly, fingers tracing lazily through my hair. "You noticed how exposed that thread sits on the front plate. But far more intriguing was the look on your face while standing before Vanessa."
She paused, tilting her head to meet my gaze dead-on. A knowing, sardonic smile rested on her lips.
"Do you seriously believe I never noticed how self-conscious you become around her? Even back when you still imagined yourself a free man. You always froze in awe whenever she stepped into a room. That untouchable chill, her cutting tone, her entire presence… Admit it, John: you've always found her fascinating. And endlessly intimidating."
Heat surged to my temples. The velvet choker around my neck felt as though it were tightening with every syllable.
"She… she is my father's wife, Loona," I stammered hoarsely, trying to look away. "She was always strict. That's all."
"Spare me the deflections," she whispered, her thumb pressing firmly against my jaw to keep my face pinned. "I want the truth. You were completely captivated by her. Back when you still controlled your own body, you thought of her in secret, didn't you? About her distance. About what it would feel like to be entirely at her mercy. Say it. Out loud."
Shame locked my throat. Every defense urged me to pull back, yet exhaustion and absolute dependence eroded my final resistance.
"I… I was fascinated by her," I forced out, my voice trembling. "I… I thought about her often. In the past."
Loona didn't laugh right away. She held still, pupils narrowed, trailing her nails with agonizing slowness along my jawline. A visible thrill of triumph ran through her posture.
"Well, well," she breathed, her voice dripping with condescending gratification. "The dutiful medical student. For years you played the upright son, freezing in deferential awe, while the filthiest thoughts about your father's wife spun through your head. How pathetic you are, John. And how deliciously transparent."
She leaned in so close her lips brushed the curve of my ear.
"Now consider where things stand today: you no longer need to hide that shame. Vanessa plans to put that thread to use very soon. As soon as Richard leaves on his next business trip, you will report to the matrimonial bed in Schöneberg wearing that exact night-blue lace. Arissa will secure the stabilizing harness, thread the solid silicone prosthetic into your M10 socket—and then you will serve my stepmother purely mechanically as a wellness fixture. Devoid of emotion, devoid of your own arousal. What do you think of that, John? How does it feel knowing the woman who once made you tremble will soon use you as a lifeless appliance?"
My stomach seized so hard it knocked the wind out of me. The words struck like a physical blow. The thought of being deployed as a mindless contraption in my father's bed, with Arissa handing over towels and keeping watch, turned my blood to ice.
"In… in the matrimonial bed?" I stammered, my voice cracking. "Loona, that… that's my father… I can't possibly…"
"You can, and you will," she cut in with gentle, unyielding finality, pressing an index finger to my lips. "And that isn't even the half of it. Before your service to Vanessa, she has another assignment in store for you."
I stared at her, eyes wide.
"Another assignment?" I echoed, my voice thick.
Loona offered a faint smile, her fingertips trailing from my choker down over my collarbone. "Did you truly think you would be allowed to carry on pretending to be an ordinary student until the weekend? That you could hide behind your lab coat in the lecture hall?"
Rising slowly, she swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stepped silently toward her wardrobe. From the top drawer, she drew out a slim, matte-black case. Returning to sit beside me, she flipped the latches with a quiet click.
Resting inside was not a heavy restraint, but gossamer, silken lingerie: sheer jet-black stay-up stockings featuring broad lace cuffs lined with silicone grip bands, a delicate strapless lace bustier, and a small glass vial of heavy lily lotion.
"Vanessa places great emphasis on seamless conditioning," Loona whispered, trailing two fingers over the delicate nylon. "She demands that you grow accustomed to the sensation of complete defenselessness—every single second of the day. Starting tomorrow morning, you wear this. Daily. Beneath your jeans, beneath your t-shirt, beneath your lab coat."
I stared at the silk pieces. The thought of moving through the halls of the Charité outfitted like this tightened the breath in my throat.
"Loona… tomorrow is completely packed," I managed with difficulty. "Anatomy in the morning, the library afterward, and the clinical practical with Mira in the afternoon… If my coat shifts or someone hears the nylon rustle…"
"Then you will simply have to be exceptionally careful," she interrupted coolly, an amused sparkle dancing in her eyes. "Every rustle of the weave, every tug of the silicone band against your shaved thighs will remind you of who you are. And heaven help you if I don't see the confirmation in the Kidslox log tomorrow morning that everything is fitted strictly to code. You will learn to hold still—because the Charité practical is merely the dress rehearsal for what awaits you in the Schöneberg bedroom."
Setting the case onto the nightstand, she drew the duvet back and slipped under the covers. With a calm, deliberate movement, she caught my arm and drew me close against her.
"Come here," she murmured softly. "Lie down."
I offered no further resistance. My limbs felt leaden, numb from exhaustion and surrender. Gingerly resting my head against her shoulder, my cheek pressed close to the soft fabric of her robe. Loona pulled the heavy duvet over both of us, wrapping an arm securely around the back of my neck, combing through my hair with slow, rhythmic strokes.
The sudden silence in the room was almost heavy. The contrast was staggering: moments ago she had dictated my coming humiliation with unsparing precision, yet now an intimate, sheltering warmth surrounded me.
Within me, the final remnants of composure broke. A hot ache rose in my chest, tears welling silently in my eyes to soak into the silk of her robe. It was a destabilizing knot of shame, panic, and an unbearable gratitude. I despised how desperately my body craved this closeness, the cool touch of her fingers across my heated brow, and the steady heartbeat beneath her chest. She had dismantled my former life and locked me in this steel—yet in the very same breath, she was the only anchor left in my world.
"Hush now," she breathed into my hair, her palm cradling the back of my head. "You endured enough today. You obeyed. Everything is fine."
Her words were venom and balm in equal measure. The faint clinking of the miniature padlock on my choker, tapping against my collarbone with every unsteady breath, served as a continuous reminder of my captivity. Yet as Loona held me firmly against her, the warmth of her body slowly driving out the chill of the surgical steel, the last trace of resistance faded to ash. Burying my face deeper into her neck, I let the accumulated tension of the day slip away, yielding to the mournful, peaceful certainty that I belonged entirely to her will.
"Sleep now, John," she whispered softly, her lips brushing my temple. "The day begins at six. And I expect you to be perfectly prepared for the Charité."
