feeling full and tired, they opt to call it a night

"I know we both said we were too full for dessert," said Abbie. "I think I might hit a food coma in a minute."

"Same," said Jake. "I feel like our morning drive here was a hundred years ago."

Abbie nodded. "It does feel that way."

They shared a slightly awkward silence for a moment, looking at each other, smiling, but not knowing quite what to say.

"Okay, I'll say it," said Jake. "I'm kind of ready to crash, but two things are on my mind. One, this has been an amazing day, and I'm afraid if it ends, I'll never have an amazing day like this again. And two, I don't know what it feels like to go back to a hotel room with you at the end of a night because I've never done that before."

Abbie giggled, her eyes sparkling at Jake. "That was so cute! And oh my god, exactly what I was thinking."

"Really?"

"Really. But to your first point, I bet tomorrow will be just as amazing if not more so. And to your second, I think we're good. Let's go up to the room and explore that experience. Together."

Jake nodded. "Who can argue with that?"

They pushed their chairs out and stood up. Jake escorted Abbie ahead of him, guiding her toward the restaurant's exit. They found the elevator, rode it to the 19th floor, and got out.
