a small talk

"you can sleep in here as long as you want," said Ryu with a smile. "that room is just a guest room and I don't have anyone to visit." after I had ten bowls of ramen at the stall we made our way back to Ryu's and I thanked him for putting up with me.

I nod my head in thanks before taking a small notebook out and wrote, "What about your family?"

"Dead. mom died giving birth to me and never knew who my dad was," said Ryu.

"I'm sorry," I wrote. I then look down in thought. what about my own family are they dead like Ryu's? worried about me?

"that is okay you didn't know and it happened a long time ago," he said trying to cheer me up. he then got up and sat down next to me and put an arm around my shoulder. "and don't worry I'm sure one day you will remember who you were Kasumi."

I really hope that I do remember one day. this sucks not knowing who I am. if only there was someone i could ask.

"You are better off now," said a dark voice. my eyes widen and I turn my head to look around the room only to see no one but Ryu.

"Kasumi what is wrong," Ryu asked.

"I thought I heard a voice," I wrote down. "it said I'm better off now."

"I didn't hear anything," said Ryu. "Hey maybe it was a memory fragment returning."

that made my eyes widen and i smiled. Ryu was most likely right it was a memory fragment and it is a good sign of me one day getting my memories back. I let out a small yawn and walked back to my room. it had been a long day and tomorrow I will have to try and pull my weight. I don't want to be a burden after all
