Chapter 5 by ClawsinHerMind ClawsinHerMind

Which punishment is chosen?

Zero Filter

Paul didn't know what he was looking at. The mobile game had seemed to be your run-of-the-mill time-waster, but the punishments were a bit unusual. Friends with Benefits suggested something a bit more lewd than a rated E for everyone experience. Maybe the game itself was just the hook and the app contained R-rated content that had to be unlocked later? He reread the options that had been given once Amy lost the game and clicked on Zero Filter. If there was more content available, maybe this option would unlock it like turning off safe search on a browser.

Zero Filter - The player will be unable to control their speech from now on. Any thoughts that cross their mind will spill out whether they want them to or not.

Paul read the notification even more confused by the app. He looked back at Amy who was waiting patiently to see what he thought. It was strange, but he wondered if maybe this whole thing was a sort of game to her. His curiosity building, he decided to play along.

"I don't know what that's about either. Never mind that right now, why don't we just sit and talk like you wanted. You should tell me about yourself first after storming in the way you did."

"Yeah, sorry about that! I just really needed to talk to you! Or someone anyway... Not that I don't like you! You seem like an ok guy. You never know with strangers whether they're going to be a creep or not. Some guys just think about sex all the time. Now you're probably thinking about having sex with me even if you weren't already!" she fired off rapidly.

Amy cringed at her own sudden outburst. Why did she say that? In fact, why was she talking to this guy in the first place? She took her phone out of Paul's hand and read the new message. This was too weird. She was starting to worry that the app was doing something to her, as impossible as that sounded.

"Shit, I don't know why I said that! I should go, shouldn't I? I mean, I'm acting really weird right now. I'm not normally the type to invite myself in and start talking to some rando. I'm just a loser who keeps to herself most of the time. There I go again! Listen, I'm going to go. Sorry for interrupting your evening."

Amy marched over to the door and, with a brief hesitation, she exited into the hall. As much as she still felt the urge to socialize, her embarrassment at her odd behavior was enough to curb her new compulsion. Quickly though, she was starting to feel a bit lonely again. Who could she hang out with? She opened her phone and started randomly scrolling through her contacts. Maybe someone she already knew would be available. Most of her old friends had moved away by this point, so her social circle was practically nonexistent. She stopped scrolling when she saw the name of one of her coworkers she had saved. She and her coworker, Stacy, weren't close at all, but they had covered each other's shifts a couple of times. With the hope that she would pick up, she hit dial.

"Hello?" asked a voice, after several rings.

"Hi Stacy, it's Amy! I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight. I know it's kind of late, but you're not scheduled tomorrow, right? I thought we could do something!"

"Uh... I don't know, I'm pretty tired right now. I was just going to watch some tv and go to bed."

"Well, would it be ok if I came over and watched with you? I don't care what it is, I just wanted to get to know you better!" Amy pleaded.

On the other end, Stacy frowned. Amy was pleasant to work with, but they had never done anything outside of work. If she was being honest, Amy came off to her as a quiet loner. Why was she calling her out of the blue like this? Without a better excuse, she felt bad turning her down though. Her tone of voice was **** and honestly kind of pathetic.

"Sure, I guess that's ok. I'll text you my address in a minute."

With that, she hung up the phone. Amy was practically brimming with excitement. She quickly returned to her apartment, grabbed her purse, and ran to her car. As she climbed into the driver's seat, she heard another chime from her phone.

"Time to play! If you miss a round, the punishments get worse!"

Amy felt compelled to open the app, but her desire to see Stacy combined with her growing nervousness around playing further rounds stopped her. She placed her phone back in her pocket and drove to the address Stacy had sent her. Over the course of the short drive, she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket several times, each vibration striking her with an unknown fear. Finally, she pulled over on a side street to turn off her phone or, better yet, delete the stupid app for good. She opened the app just in time to see the following message.

"You have forfeited the round by refusing to play! You lose! Choose one of the following punishments within 30 seconds!"

Novice

Sex Obsessed

Programmable Personality

The timer counting down had almost run out. She had only a few seconds left after scanning the options on her screen.

What does she choose at the last second?
