Your body starts crashing!

Ever since you volunteered to have REGEN put in your system and died by their hands, you've never come face to face with your mortality. How fragile you are... The second REGEN shut down, you felt your muscles seize up, all throughout your body! You fell on your knees, holding yourself as now there was this unbelievably excruciating throbbing in your brain! As you clamp the sides of your head, you realize where all that pain was coming from: the nanites had kept your condition at bay while improving you...

"Shadow!" Canary ran to him in righteous worry, but Batman stopped her, shaking his head. In his eyes, the only way to improve is to hit rock bottom, a lesson he's integrated in his very being since he was a child...

Wildcat looked down at you, watching as you try to discern which was more painful, your body or your brain. "Pathetic. All you heroes have something to rely on: powers, money and gadgets. I only have my body and spirit." He removed his mask to show his flat grey hair. "I know how to fight, was great at it and still am. I'm not your babysitter, now get up!" He kicked your stomach and you groan in great pain quickly spread through your body once again, like a ripple on a pond...

"Ted, knock it off!" Dinah scolded.

"Those villains won't let you recover. They'll kick you when you're down, or worse." Dinah started protesting, but everyone watched in great surprise as you had pushed yourself off the ground, bit by bit. Pain seared through your every vein and muscle, but something drove you: maybe frustration at Wildcat, maybe your dedication from training intensely. Maybe both... Wildcat saw your eyes, blank but seeming to radiate with desire.

"That's good, kid. Now gimme--" But before he could finish, you punched at him like a mantis shrimp again. The hit was so fast and strong, it actually had him violently spiraling away from you, but he caught himself and dug in his feet with his hand as an extra brake. Canary and Batman watched as you slowly straighten yourself up, and while she proceeded cautiously, he and Wildcat charged in full ****. It was as if your body was on autopilot, executing mantis kung fu to counter Wildcat's many boxing punches both to your face and your gut. Suddenly, you grab Ted's arm and threw him against Batman, and as they collided, Dinah thought she heard the roars of a gorilla coming from you...

Many of the Justice League had caught wind of your training, how you could par with Batman, and came to see you take on three at once. "Well, I'll be hornswoggled..." Outlaw murmured. "The little hombre's got guts."

"His valor is impressive," mused Bronze Knight. "As is his strength." But Supergirl was, silently, really worried. She examined your body, seeing how your body and mind were impeded, damaged. But augmented by... something.

'Be careful...' She thought.

The men tumbled, but Batman was back on his feet and tossed some mini smoke grenades in your directions, obscuring you mostly in a smoky cloud. You could hardly see, and as your eyes welled up with tears, you felt your heart stop!

You groaned loudly and took a knee as your fist was balled against your chest. Luckily, your heart started beating again.

"Wow!" Oliver, aka Green Arrow marveled. "He doesn't wanna lose, does he? What is he thinking?"

"I cannot sense his thoughts," the Martian told Ollie. "Only the desire for victory." The pain strangely seemed to give you focus as you heard Batman running towards you, and you spring into action, but backwards. You jump off the wall and pounce like a tiger, making its sound!

Batman may have dodged with a back handspring, but driven as you were by instinct, you wildly slash at him back to back with the claws you grew before lunging.

John Stewart was another among ongoing spectators. "I know I told Shad to give all he's got, but now it looks like he's trying to kill him!" Vixen who was with him sympathized, saying 'he is...' and Lantern looked at her in surprise.

As you mindlessly attack Batman, Dinah did a midair roundhouse kick and whacked her foot against your head. You literally got turned around, and as you glared her down, Ted charged with a Double Axe Handle, cupping his hands together and ready to swing them down from overhead on you.

Of course you were having none of that, so you grabbed his costume and tossed him right over your head into a wall adjacent to you, where his back collided into.

Canary came at you, but exhausted as you were beyond explanation, you caught her second roundhouse kick with one hand and shooed her by pushing her away. Deep down, you didn't want to hurt anyone, especially not a lady.

She took notice that you weren't trying to hurt her...

Batman, and the quickly-recovering Wildcat, came at you again and you caught and blocked their punches as fast as you could, trying to ignore the pain, but a couple punches from each contender finally hit you, but despite the kicks and punches, you just pushed on and on until your heart stopped again!

You lean back, clutching at your chest and both men almost hit each other. The pain was too much, and you issued a Canary Cry, releasing your pent up anguish into sound waves that not only blew all three into the opposite wall, but shook the gym to its core!

Cracks grew large in the walls, bits of the ceiling came plummeting down, and the equipments' nuts and bolts came shooting off! You slid down the wall, wide-eyed with dots for pupils, and you fell on your side; your second **** was upon you... Batman cried out, 'Shadow!!' as all three of them came to you, checking your pulse before setting up in the infirmary.
