You pretend to sleep instead

A better idea crosses your mind. You just might be able to trap Cameron into marrying you if his parents see what he’s done to you. You close your eyes, relax, and pretend to be asleep while Sarah worriedly calls your name and checks on the kids.

Mike is the one that finds you, calling for his wife and dialing Cameron on the phone. Sarah’s scream of horror when she sees you jolts you to attention. Mike has to hold her back from throttling you as she screams bloody murder.

Once she’s calmed down, the Smiths go downstairs to talk alone. Mike returns with your clothing and tells you to wait. He wants to talk things through with everyone once Cameron arrives.
