Chapter 4 by Trom1806 Trom1806

So where are you going tomorrow morning?

You prefer to choose the western direction.

You leave Elder Franklin's house. You go to your own hut. You prepare the supplies you need for the journey, you pack them in a small bag, which is made of coyote skin. So, you've packed: a leather (made from alligator skin) canteen with drinking water, some coyote jerky, and the things you need to get an open fire (chair, flint, and tinder).

You sharpen your iron dagger, which is about 30 centimeters long. You are testing the strength of the shaft of your hunting spear, which has a tip in the form of a sharp stone (unfortunately, iron is an expensive commodity and because of this you are still **** to use more primitive weapons).

Having completed all your preparations, you go to bed.

It took you a long time to fall asleep. You considered Elder Franklin's words. As a result, you decide that tomorrow morning you will set off on your journey in a western direction. You think that this option is the most profitable for you due to the fact that the path through the western lands will run through the steppe plain regions, and also due to the fact that the Free City of Alma is allies of your tribe. Your Spiderscars tribe regularly trades with this city. By the way, your iron dagger was bought about a year ago from one of the traveling merchants who came to your village from this city (you had to pay dearly for this dagger, you gave three coyote skins and one alligator skin for it). Sometimes the rulers of this city hire warriors from your tribe as mercenaries to guard caravans or other affairs.

Tomorrow morning you collect your things and you walk out of the village of Parkerville in a westerly direction.

So, you are dressed in your usual clothes: leather pants, leather vest, moccasins. You carry with you your leather sling bag containing your supplies. At your belt you have your iron dagger in a leather sheath. In your hands you hold your spear with a stone tip.

You occasionally encounter silhouettes of ruins along the way, overgrown with bushes and vines.

During the first two days of the journey, you walk through the lands of your Spiderscars tribe. A couple of times you see small groups of hunters from your tribe from a distance.

Sometimes you noticed groups of animals that were dangerous to you. For example, large flocks of diredogs. Of course, you could kill one diredog or two diredogs. But in these flocks there were at least 4 individuals each. Please log in to view the image

Therefore, you preferred to quickly move away from these flocks as soon as you noticed them. Luck was on your side. These flocks of diredogs were busy hunting gophers and lizardmoles.

You continued on your way. You disguised your overnight stops with the help of bushes and the ruins of ancient buildings.

As you walked, you often felt on your skin the fresh sea breeze that blew from the southern direction, from the Great Canaveral Sea. You know that the name of this sea has a mysterious ancient origin. Do you remember the legends that in ancient times, before the Universal Catastrophe, the Sacred Lands of the Divine Presence were located somewhere in nearby territories. From here the Gods descended from Heaven and from here the journey of the Gods to the Heavenly Halls again took place. You would visit these lands with great interest. But unfortunately, this is not possible. These legends tell that the Sacred Lands of the Divine Presence were flooded and swallowed up by sea waters during the Universal Catastrophe.

Such legends are common not only among your tribe. Most residents of the entire surrounding region refer to this sea as the “Great Canaveral Sea.”

You think about your route and try to move as carefully as possible. You vigilantly observe the area so that you are not caught by surprise.

You continue your journey west.

What will you see next on your journey?
