Chapter 8 by akaimikazuki akaimikazuki

What do you decide to do with the wolf?

You kept the wolf for a while, trying to tame him for a week

After much deliberation during your rest, you finally came up with a decision. You would tell Blue to possess the wolf for now. You would try to tame him over and over again everyday for maybe about a week or so. If he still refused to cooperate with or submit to you by then, you would have to let him go. You looked at the wolf sadly and sighed.

"Sorry about this wolfie, but you give me little choice. Hopefully you can come around soon. Go on Blue, take over the wolf's body once more"

Blue responded to your command and jumped towards the wolf. The wolf struggled and resisted as Blue crawled up his feet and aimed for his snout, but it was futile. Moments later, Blue had taken over the wolf's body once more. You untied the wolf, who was now yours, and you patted it gently on the head.

"Thanks, Blue. I don't know what I'd do without you," you said to the slime inside the wolf's body, "I wish I don't have to control him like this, but I don't really have a choice right now. I should try telling mother about Pochi soon. Well, let's go home now. I don't feel like taking a quest today"

You left the forest and walked towards your house, with your wolf slime partner trailing behind you. You were hoping that the wolf would be more agreeable to your taming attempt in the following days.

A week had past, and you still had Blue controlling the wolf most of the time. The two of you had taken several quests together, and found that you two had good coordination. It wasn't as good as your bond with Pochi, but it was close. You were glad you and Blue got along very well.

Meanwhile, after a few days, you noticed that you needed to feed a lot of food to the wolf slime. It seemed you needed to feed both the wolf AND the slime. Blue probably prioritized feeding itself rather than the wolf, which was why the wolf looked like it was starving sometimes when you told Blue to get out of him and let the wolf moved freely.

The wolf, unfortunately, kept resisting your attempts to tame him. The time that you set for yourself had run out, and you needed to make another decision. Ultimately, you decided to let the wolf go. He did try to kill you on your first meeting, but this past week the two of you (with Blue's help of course) were working together. You considered that as enough payback and felt it was just unfair to **** this poor wolf to be with you forever. If you ever bump into this wolf in the future, you hoped that he would be less hostile towards you.

But now comes the question on how you should release him. It was obvious he was still hostile, so if you just told Blue to exit his body, without a leash the wolf would attack you immediately. You didn't feel like telling Blue to go on his own inside the forest to release the wolf there, so you needed another way. You've been thinking about it for the last few days, imagining the worst scenario, and had come up with a solution.

"Come on, Blue. Let's go to town"

Blue answered you with a happy bark. The two of you headed towards the commercial district. You went to the potion shop, one that you had come to numerous times before. You planned to buy a sleeping potion, something to knock out the wolf temporarily so you could release him safely.

You entered the small and quaint building, and were greeted with the smell of herbs and spices. A beautiful woman with a pair of fox ears on top of her head looked at you from behind the counter. Her lips curved into a smile when she recognized you.

"Welcome, dear customer! Good to see you again, Alexis. I haven't seen you in a while," she greeted you warmly.

You saw the white tip of her black tail waved around on her back, and you knew the shopkeeper was in a good mood. The fox woman's name was Elizabeth, and you knew her very well. Elizabeth, or miss Liz, as you called her, was a close friend of your parents. She had been living next door since you were a child, and she would always give snacks for you every time you came over. The witch was quite an expert in alchemy, brewing high quality potions and elixirs. But she was also quite knowledgeable in general, often answering your questions regarding anything about the wildlife if your father was not available. You picked up your reading habit from her.

As you walked closer, you could see her figure more clearly. Elizabeth was a beautiful young woman, with long black hair that reached all the way down to her waist. Her eyes were large and bright, their emerald color almost seemed to shine in the dark. She was wearing a simple but elegant black dress, which accentuated her slender figure. You didn't know why, but you always found her breast to be quite mesmerizing. They weren't huge, but they were a nice handful, and her nipples always stood out prominently beneath the fabric of her top. You often unconsciously glanced at them whenever you met the witch, like just about now. You blinked and looked up to meet her eyes.

"Hello miss Liz," you returned her greeting, smiling yourself, "sorry, I've been busy with the guild lately"

"Oh, that's fine, that's fine. I'm glad that you are doing well. It seems that you made a new friend while I was gone?"

She gazed at your wolf slime companion, who was in turn looking at Elizabeth with curious eyes. It seemed Elizabeth instantly recognized that the wolf was not Pochi, just like your father.

"Ah... you can notice, huh," you smiled wryly, "yes, Pochi was... killed by a Brown Bear a while back"

"Oh my, that's terrible. Poor Pochi...", she put her fingers to her mouth and gasped, "so you tamed a new wolf friend?"

You hesitated for a moment, not knowing how to explain the situation.

What should you tell Elizabeth?
