You have dinner

Carrie is clearly processing what’s happened and so are you. You’re cooking in the kitchen, but you’re distracted. Letting the universe decide was meant to mean you didn’t have to think about anything, but this week has already given you so much more to think about and you’re not even half way through it.

Carrie’s phone pings and you go to pick it up. You don’t want it to be Antoine. It’s not and you feel relief. It’s Maud.

Maud: I hope you enjoyed this afternoon. You are an excellent student just like your boyfriend. I’d like you both to join us at the weekend for the next step. Eight o’clock at the same place.

You close the message. It’s intriguing, but you’ll have to toss to decide what to do. You can’t imagine what might be next or what the event might be. You can leave it until tomorrow and talk to Carrie about it then.

For this evening a quiet night would be good you think. You plate up and take the food through to the bedroom. You can eat in bed for once and then have an early night.

Carrie looks up when you go into the bedroom. “How did it go with Kim she asks? I forgot to ask.”
