Emma and Ben get along, which has always been surprising considering he is so messy and slovenly but she is a bit of a neat freak. Only the occasional wrinkling of her nose if he does something gross, but otherwise she laughs at his jokes and makes both of you tea and coffee if you are watching TV or playing games together. For Ben's part he has gotten used to the idea of a girl in the shared space and is more accepting of it. You are pleased about this as it keeps things smooth. Often times you all hang out together, either at yours or out a pub.

One evening at work your supervisor asks you to stay late to help complete work on an important project. Your usual routine these days has been to meet Emma at the main entrance of your building and go back to yours together, but tonight will be different. You message her to let her know you are not around this evening.
*Hey sorry, I have to work late tonight. Can we hang out tomorrow instead?*
*Ohh Tom that's sad I was looking forward to seeing you :(. How late will you be?* she replies

*I am not sure, the whole thing is a bit of a mess*
*Well I can wait at yours till you are back? :) * she responds.
Well it's not like her and Ben haven't hung out before, since they get on well it wouldn't be awkward. Equally you might not be back till way later meaning you won't really get to see her anyway.
