Chapter 13 by frogogre1 frogogre1

Is their a spider monster wondering the streets?

Yes

Harris woke up on Monday and began getting ready to go on his morning jog. As he did, he began to notice that he had somehow slept through the weekend. Though for whatever reason Harris couldn't find it in himself to be bothered by it. Mostly because there was something else filling his body instead of the feeling he should have at not knowing where had been over the weekend.

Harris found he was filled with a strange filling of dread as if the big event he had been excited for had gone wrong and knew it had left him with a vague knowledge that it had created something that hadn't been intended, though he wasn't sure how he knew that. Harris decided to ignore the strange sensation and half-remembered memories and try to lose himself in his morning jog.

So he quickly took care of his morning routine and began to jog his morning route before work. He took his time with this morning jog, losing himself in the rhythm and the movement of his feet as he jogged across town. Though eventually his little respite from his strange feelings of foreboding had to end as he found himself walking into work.

Though Harris hoped he could lose himself to his work and lose the feeling that something that he had done had made things worse for him somehow. Luckily for Harris, his work, where he spent hours constantly logging numbers into a computer, made him forget as he focused on getting all the numbers correct and double- and triple-checking his work before he finalized anything.

Though eventually his peace was robbed from as he took a break and as he was enjoying resting his mind and his eyes in the break room, the news came on informing everyone in the room about a spider woman hybrid who was reportably **** thugs, though what she was doing them the authorities hadn't seen fit to speculate on. The moment he heard the mention of a hybrid spider woman, his eyes shot open, and he found that feeling of dark foreboding coming back with a vengeance.

He turned around, staring at the TV screen in the break room for a good bit as they spoke about the story. For some reason Harris had the urge to see an image of this spider hybrid just to confirm something he wasn't sure. Though sad for Harris, the news didn't show any pictures, more than likely because they didn't have any just eyewitness testimony as people watched others be taken.

Eventually the news moved on to something else, and Harris spent the rest of his break trying to calm this strange feeling down. He went back to work with a slight alarm about this spider hybrid woman, but not as bad as he had it when he first heard about it on the news. He would eventually be able to lose the feeling entirely as he went about the rest of his work day.

Eventually his workday finally ended, and he made his way home along with the rest of his coworkers. Harris jogged home, though for some reason he felt the urge to jog faster than when he was on the way to work. Making sure to stay in the center of the stone walkways and keeping room between him and any nearby buildings. Though Harris himself wasn't aware of the distance he wasn't trying to maintain from the building, it was almost as if it were an instinctive urge to keep away from places he could be ambushed by those who had a special disposition, such as spider legs.

He made his way into his home, shutting his front door behind him and locking it all in one motion. He took a big breath, though he wasn't sure if it was from the run or the fact he felt safer in his house for whatever reason. Though he felt he should be sure of that and began to walk around his home and make sure all his doors were locked as well as the windows shut.

Once he was sure he was safe from intrusion, which he had a bad feeling about, he began to make and then have dinner. While watching the latest news to see if anything has happened with that strange spider woman that gave him a bad vibe. The news didn't have anything new to say about her, just the latest about the latest dozen superhero fights.

Though to be honest, they sounded more like the latest wins and losses in wrestling than the battles of good and evil they were supposed to be. Though he supposed thats what happened when they happened so many times a day, it at some point steps feeling like a threat and more like some kind of sport.

Once he was done watching news, Harris took care of the last few things he needed to before heading to bed. A few minutes after he had fallen asleep in bed, a cracking sound could be heard as Spider-Wasp once again came out. "Bzzz needs to find out bzzz what she is doing bzzz. What she is planning. So that this time bzzz Spider-Wasp be the one to bzzzz to get her in trap." Spider-Wasp said to himself before sneaking out his own bedroom window and carefully shifting it behind him.

So how are the night owls responding?
