Amber quickly pulled away, stepping out his reach and looked up at him.

"What are you doing?" She asked confused. He apologised, saying it was an accident and sat back down, putting his head in his hands.

Amber stood there, still confused about what had happened. Her step dad never showed her any affection, even a simple hug was a rare occasion. So, why did he hug her?

Amber didn’t want to leave him alone but she was creeped out. She didn’t know what else to do, so she walked up the stairs to her room. She didn’t want to deal with this and was hoping that in the morning things would be better.
