"Where?" She whispered, finally calmed down from the terror of her freefall. The boy looked vaguely familiar but now wasnt the time to pursue that side of things.

"There's a graveyard by the church nearby. Its our best bet." Was all he said before jerking her to her feet and darting onward. What a creepy suggestion, but she had already committed to this course of action. Besides, she could hear the booming of something smashing through walls in a building above her. The crash hadnt slain the beast.

"What's happening? Whats coming after me? WHY is he coming after me?" Harper had many questions, and she hoped this guy could answer at least one of them.

"Lets focus on the matter at hand. This way," he replied, then upped his pace, tugging on her rather forcefully.

She could hear the thing behind her, but dared not look. 'Slayer' it kept calling, but what did it mean.

"Here we are, stand behind me," he said, stopping in his tracks and trying to **** her behind him.

"Its almost here, just follow my lead. Trust me," he said, bis voice calm enough to quell her own fear enough to follow, despite the winged creature swooping down closer and and closer from above. Helplessly out of her depth, all she could do was cling tightly to his surprisingly lean body, the contact forcing her body to betray her as her clitty hardened from the anticipatory adrenaline rush.

He waited into the creature made its final descent, its claws pronged, ready to pierce.

"Now," he shouted and grabbed Harper before diving backwards, putting a large gravestone baring a crucifix at its peak between them.

Taken by surprise, the crimson gargoyle could not halt its attack, flying straight into the stone to a surprising outcome.

With the creature defeated, and the sun beginning to rise after a LONG and shocking night, Harper hoped she would finally be able to get some answers.
