"Uh, yeah," you say, and feel a strange thrill as you hear your voice again, sounding so... weird. It's not a particularly deep voice, but it's definitely deeper than your normal one, and... you kind of like it... "I'm here."

"Ellie?" You can hear Pam's frown in her voice. "Says I called the right number... you have a cold or something?"

"Uh, it's hard to explain but no, I'm not sick... come over and I'll show you?"

"Oooookay." She's obviously suspicious, but also clearly curious. She never could resist a secret. "Sure, see you in ten."
