Chapter 27

Do you want to try to get a job at the coffee shop with Abbie?
Yes. With two incomes, you'll be able to move into your own place sooner.
“That sounds great. I need a job for the summer, and working with you would be perfect. Fucking on breaks might be a bit too risky though,” you tell Abbie with a laugh.
“If you say so, Master, but I’m available for you anytime, anywhere, for anything you want,” she tells you with an earnest expression.
She seems to be taking her slavery incredibly seriously. You stroke her hair and caress her cheek. “You’re so good to me, but you have to get out of my room before Mom wakes up and finds us. Go,” you order her.
She hops out of your bed. “I’m putting in extra hours today. I’ll talk to my boss about hiring you,” she says over her shoulder as she wiggles her ass out of your room.
School drags. It’s hard to concentrate on your classes when all you can think about is your sister’s beautiful body and worshipful blowjobs. At lunch, you’re so deep in your thoughts that you don’t even notice someone saying hello until Tracey sits down across from you.
“Oh, hi. Sorry, I was kind of out of it,” you tell her with an apologetic smile.
“Were you out of it yesterday, too? I thought we were going to meet up to study. I was in the library waiting,” she raises an eyebrow at you. It’s clear that she’s not used to people blowing her off. “Did you just lose interest when you found out I’m gay?”
“No! It’s not like that,” you insist, not wanting to seem like a total jerk. “There’s just been some stuff going on with me this week. My mind was somewhere else and I forgot. I’m really sorry.”
She purses her lips as she considers your apology. “What was on your mind?” she asks.
You sigh. There’s no way you can tell Tracey even a little about what’s been going on in your life, but you don’t want to insult her and leave her thinking that you were only after her for sex or are homophobic. “It was some family drama. First, my sister was trying to set me up with a friend of hers, then she was going on about a new guy she’s obsessed with, who she was afraid wasn’t into her. She overshares sometimes. She tells me everything, and then I get sucked into thinking about her love life all the time. She worked things out, but I was preoccupied thinking about her yesterday.” That’s true enough and you hope it will satisfy Tracey. You set aside your lunch. “If you’d like, we could go over the material for a little while now?”
Tracey looks at you curiously. “Isn't your sister Abbie Harris? I remember her. She was a couple of years ahead of us, right?”
You nod, “Yeah. She graduated two years ago.”
Tracey smiles and shakes her head. “She was probably the most popular girl in school. It’s hard to imagine her being worried about a guy not liking her.”
“Everyone has insecurities sometimes, I guess,” you tell her. “Even pretty, popular girls, right?” You shrug, and nod in her direction.
“That’s true.” She nods. “So how’s it going with the girl she set you up with? I’m guessing at least she isn’t a lesbian, so that’s gotta be a plus right?” she teases.
You laugh. “No, not a lesbian, but there was a strange vibe. She’s older and it felt like she was just doing a favor for my sister. I don’t think I’ll be seeing her again.” You’re starting to get comfortable talking with Tracey. Now that you have a sure thing with Abbie and you know there’s no possibility of anything happening with Tracey, the pressure is completely off.
“So, you’re still looking for a prom date then?” she asks.
“I wasn’t planning on going to the prom,” you tell her. You’re surprised by this turn in the conversation. “I’m sure everyone who’s interested in going already has a date.”
“Well… not everybody. There’s someone who I’d like to be there, but her parents are religious and old fashioned. They won’t let her go unless a respectable young man asks her, and they get to meet him first,” she explains.
“Are you asking me to be cover so you can take this girl to the prom?” you ask. “You hardly know me. Isn’t there someone else you would be more comfortable asking?”
“I know you’re shy and polite, which is exactly the type that Leah’s folks would agree to her going with. I’ve got a good feeling about you. I think you mean well. I mean, the fact that you got so wrapped up in your sister’s problems means you’re empathetic,” she smiles at you. “Anyway, we could all go, have fun, dance. You don’t want to miss out on your senior prom, do you? I can introduce you to other girls who'll be there,” she offers.
“That’s ok. I’ve had enough of set-ups for a while,” you chuckle.
“Will you at least think about it? It would be doing me and Leah a big favor,” she smiles. “And you owe me something for standing me up on that study session.” She laughs to let you know she’s joking.
“I’ll think about it. I have to check on a few things first,” you tell her. You’re not sure how Abbie will deal with your going to the prom with another girl, but you realize that going out with this girl will help you cover your relationship as much as it does hers.
How do you tell Abbie about this?
