Ruby was heading out, glancing around for Weiss and her other teammates. "Oh, hey Jaune!" she said cheerfully. "How are you doing?"

"Oh, just great... Hey, you were made the leader of Team RRNW right?" Jaune asked.

"Yep!" she said in a chipper tone. "Ozpin must have been real impressed by my decapitating the Nevermore!"

"I doubt it was just about the most damage we inflicted on the Grimm," Jaune remarked with a chuckle as they found themselves walking together. "I didn't even touch it myself, and Yang and Pyrrha both took out way more than I did earlier... Can you imagine if Yang led my team?"

"Hey, that's my sis you're talking about!" Ruby stuck out her tongue.

"...your point exactly?" Jaune teased.

"...okay, yeah, you're right. Still, you shouldn't sell yourself short, that was a smart idea, luring it over to you, and then launching Nora up where she knocked it for a loop, that was pretty awesome too!"

"I still feel Pyrrha shoulda been picked over me..." Jaune mused ruefully.

"...you had such thoughts too?" Ruby asked, a look of slight depression on her face.

"I'm sorry?"

"It's just that... Weiss has been mad at me and-"

"Which, stop the presses," Jaune quipped.

"I'm serious, I mean worse than usual!" she huffed, pumping her cheeks out. "I mean, I thought she was warming up to me a little when we fought together in the Emerald Forest, but she just seems... Cold ever since we were put in the teams..."

"...you think she's mad you were picked as team leader?"

"I mean... Kind of, she hasn't said anything yet," Ruby admitted. "But it's the only reason I can think of she would want to interact with me even less than before..."

They turned the corner, and almost walked right into someone and nearly knocking a mug of coffee out of his hand in the process. "Ack, I'm sorry!" Jaune said, before blinking as he and Ruby looked up at none other than the Headmaster.

"That's quite alright, it is unfortunately all too easy to miss someone else coming around the same corner from the other way, you literally would not believe how many times it has happened to me," Ozpin told them in a kind tone. "Regardless, I'm pleased to see the leaders of two separate teams getting on fairly well..."

Ozpin blinked a bit as he saw Ruby look away. "...is there something wrong?"
