Does she ask her?

Yeah

Chapter 7 by CMW CMW

Part of me wanted to run away. Well, walk away briskly. That would be the smart thing to do, right? Yet, wait, the woman walked into the store? Did.. I scare her? This was... new water for me. I had never seen someone look at me before. Did she understand me? I didn't really know if I understood me. I guess, hmm. I was tempted to run away and if I was next to a door, moving through a visible cover would be a fast way to do that.

Perhaps, I should apologize if nothing else. It is rude to stare. If she is like may, I think she'd understand that. If not, she'd probably laugh and I would at least know and I could go home and resume my homework. If nothing else, puff jitters were good for that. I really hated moments of not knowing. They were sooo, well, I guess frustrating.

Raven and Ivy's Antiques. Hmm. Never seen this shop before. Maybe it was new? Kind of dark, and it looked... old. Well, no not like antique but like it had been here a while. I guess I never noticed it. Since you couldn't exactly have a new old shop. Oh, there she is. She had brown hair, and a beautiful gemstone necklace.

"Hi," she said in a hushed town.

"Hi," I said back.

"I wan-"

We both stopped since we had said it in unison.

"I, urm, you can," I paused as I got a bit nervous.

"It was, a bit rude of me, you can speak first," she said pushing her fingers together.

I just... felt a mild bit of flutters in my stomach. She seemed about as nervous as me. "I just wanted to apologize, for staring I mean. It was rude. I am sorry."

"Oh no!" She said looking worried. "I was starring! It just, your eyes, the way, I mean erm. Sorry, thats... I'm new to town. I'm a bit shy."

I felt myself smiling. "I guess I am not new new. I been hear a couple years for school, but I haven't made many friends. Sometimes, I still feel new."

She smiled. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I can, uhm like, where are my manners. I should offer you tea. Would you like tea?" She asked.

I felt a bit lost. "I... not quite sure I understand?"

She looked down. "Did I do it wrong? I'm sorry."

"No no, not," I paused coughing. Ugh, it was dusty in here. I decided a second puff was in order.

She smiled. "No way, we even match there, well. Almost. Mine's green," she said holding an inhaler, but where mine had a purple tube, she had a green one.

"Sorry, I know that sucks," I said.

"Oh, I see," she said but then she tilted her head and smiled. "Do you like chamomile tea?"

Wait! That. I knew that. It was like, the kind of smile I would give to a five year old that didn't understand something. Like. "You think computers are dumb, oh, I see." But. It was my inhaler. How. Why? Like. She... but.

"Miss, are you okay?" she asked looking concerned. "If you don't like chamomile tea, I can see if I have other flavors."

"Sorry, just puff jitters," I said. "Chamomile tea is my favorite actually. Its-"

"Soothing. Right, the apple honey is a bit of tart and sweet is a nice balance too," she said.

I smiled and kind of blushed. How was it like she could read me like a book? "Yeah. Oh, but how come your offering me tea? I'm not faulting you! I just... don't get why?"

"Oh! Right! Sorry! I'm new! I haven't introduced myself," she said with a small timid bow. "My name is Gemma Stone. And I own this store."

Huh? I... wait. Right. Introductions. "I'm Ginger Banks, nice to meet you," I said with a similar bow. "And I would be honored to have tea."
