Unfortunately for Sayaka her feelings of triumph and relief were deflated almost immediately

“Breeding Pass? Oh, you guys have seen one of those as well?” All eyes turned to the newcomer. It was Martin Bruns the good natured and slightly chubby Graphic Design Support Manager. He was scheduled to be working a little later in the morning that weekend and had literally just entered the open plan office from the ground floor Mall. He had only caught the very end of his colleagues’ discussion and Sayaka’s snipping of the Breeding Pass.

“Yeah, some guy at the Rear South Entrance was handing them out. I don’t know if there is some kind of promotion for an adult store or something. But the plastic is a polymer I had never seen before so I thought it was worth keeping. Might be a good material for our own promotions. I actually wanted to talk to the promoter about them but when I went back to speak to him Mall security was getting very animated and the man ran off.” Martin carried on with this explanation, notoriously scatterbrained he was seemingly oblivious to the fact that it was unusual that his coworkers were all on their feet, to say nothing of the fact that Grant Donovan and Naomi were still in a state of undress.

“Wait, wait. Hold up a second Martin,” interrupted Tyler, “you’re saying you have a Breeding Pass?” asked the black man.

“Sure,” said Martin a little puzzled at why the entire office was interested in this marketing prop. He produced a fresh Breeding Pass from his pocket and was immediately surprised when Trevor lunged trying to snatch it and was shoved over by Ethan. They began scuffling on the floor before disentangling from each other. Other men in the office were weighing up their options.

“Woah guys." said Martin. "What the hell? It’s just a card. It’s not that big a deal.”

“Martin,” said Trevor, “I will literally give you $500 in my wallet right now for that card.” Across the room Asuka shifted nervously in her chair noticing the lecherous Events Liaison throwing her a lustful glance.

“Trevor dude, there’s no need for that,” said Martin. “It really isn’t a big deal. Like I was trying to say when the man handing them out ran off he dropped a bundle of them. So, I picked them up as samples to check out the polymer.”

And just like that Martin dropped a thick stack of Breeding Passes onto the desk in front of him.

Every colleague was staring at the desk. Martin saw that one tech support girl had her hand over her mouth in shock.

He laughed nervously. “Huh, when did you people all become so interested in promotional material design?”

No one said anything and finally Martin became aware that the office had become very, very quiet.
